杜恩德羅裏恩特住宿(Dune de l'Orient)

Dune de l'Orient is a gem nestled in the heart of Pondicherry white town. Don't go expecting the amenities of a standard five star hotel because the this is luckily much less and much more than that. The impeccable staff gracefully treads the fine line between providing a detail and guest oriented hospitality experience and allow you to define the contours of your stay within the walls of this heritage building tastefully turned into a... well, hotel, for lack of a better word. It has been home for my family in ways that far exceed the protocol of an online review but I'm happy to share the experience so that others might find their way to the courtyard at the heart of this Dune de l'Orient. A true gem.

Bien placé, de grandes chambres avec le charme des années 20, une grande cour intérieure où l'on prend le petit déjeuner. Le confort des années 20, des chambres au rez de chaussée très bruyantes, pas d'eau chaude mais tiède, une salle de bain vétuste, un petit déjeuner au choix limité.

This could be a very quirky hotel in a great old building but it is extremely run down. Our room had some interesting pieces of furniture but unfortunately the bedroom and bathroom were in need of a good clean. The shower was so scaled up only a trickle of water could come through but luckily it was hot. The breakfast was very basic although you could have a reasonable omelette. Out of the 10 hotels we have stayed in during our 3 week trip this was the worst yet one of the most expensive. Not worth the cost. The staff tried to be helpful when asked for something. The website photos are very deceiving!

Like other reviewers I feel this could be a fabulous boutique hotel but it needs an enormous investment first. We stayed for three nights and I was glad to leave. It is hard to say much positive about our experience except the person in charge did try hard to be helpful and the location is good. Sorry not to be more positive but considering the price we paid it wasn’t a good experience.

It used to be a iconic property under previous ***agement (neemrana) but its disheartening to see current condition. Biggest turndown is sewage water at the entry of hotel, with horrific mosquitos problem which in turn is hazardous for health as well. Paid 25K for 2 nights... Feels absolute waste of money.

Ridiculous ***agement - they had to cancel my entire trip as my daughter was unwell. Leave aside part refund - the property gobbled my entire money - strongly regretted booking this property- request all to refrain from booking this property - who in this day n age takes the entire amount in advance - *********** to are were pathetic in this entire experience as well - INR 72,000 busted by these cheats

If you want five star luxury, this hotel isn't for you. But if you want french meets indian chic style with antique furniture, four poster beds you need the boxes provided to climb onto and an oasis of a courtyard for dining, then this is the hotel for you. The location is excellent being based in the french quarter of Puducherry. The staff are professional and knowledgeable. Top tip ... ask for an upstairs bedroom. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and hope to stay here again.

Very clean and a cute hotel with extremely polite and helpful staf. Overall a delightful experience. Mr. Suresh was particularly very prompt and helpful. Our stay was more pleasant qith the support given by the team. Wonderful place for a short peaceful vacation.

It was a wonderful experience. Suresh, Vicky and the entire staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely love to visit this place again. Enjoyed the vintage rooms ands the fact that the hotel was so well located in the city. Thank you for everything
