白象野生動物園非洲露營(AfriCamps at White Elephant Safaris)

Wij, (groot)ouders en kinderen , verbleven hier 2 nachten. Top tenten, perfect ingericht, met groot terras en adem benemend uitzicht op reusachtig stuwmeer. Hottube niet alleen voor kids een feest, ontbijtpakket een must, dichtstbijzijnde supermarkt in Pongola, we vroegen 2e dag om meer yoghurt. Eerste avond braaipakket, een feest. Boottocht op meer gemaakt, veel krokodillen, nijlpaarden met veel babies, adembenemend. Later nog met ranger langs oever vogels spotten. We zijn geen vogelaars, maar voor een Vogelaar lijkt me dit in ZA het paradijs. Het restaurant ligt op 10 minuten rijden, nu nog te groot voor huidige aantal tenten, maar ook al een feest. Een van de dames, die er nog werkt(!), is een geboren Rotterdamse, al 78 jaar, die het leuk vindt al je een praatje met haar maakt. Veel mensen uit omgeving komen er dineren. Kortom we komen er terug, ws voor meer dagen Nu wat moet beter? Signalering geschilderd op steen om er te komen is vervaagd en slecht leesbaar. Huis bij tenten met zwembad is gesloten na 1900 uur, geen verlichting,als je savonds wil zwemmen zou gedeeltelijke opening prettig zijn. PS de rangers. Die je meenemen naar neushoorns en vogels zijn top

Tent prima geoutilleerd- wel wat verouderde ritsen. Bedden prima, en magnetron aanwezig. Ook de hout kachel is heerlijk en maakt t lekker warm. Voor de koffie is er een koffie plunger, maar die werkt uitstekend. Braai buiten is gezellig en werkt naar behoren. Hot tub is een leuke bijkomstigheid, echter het water is niet helemaal vers- en is wat groen. Het zwembad bij het hoofd gebouw is niet schoon en de stoelen wat verouderd. Lijkt vergane glorie. Ontbijt basket is prima.

Nous avons apprécié le calme et la beauté du lieu et la piscine. Sinon pour faire une halte repos, il y a peu à faire à cet endroit où l'on n'a pas le droit de faire du self drive, où la croisière sur le lac est peu intéressante et où tout est payant. nous avons manqué de café....., mais certes les saucisses sont données en abondance! La douche n'était chaude que pour le premier à passer et encore.......... Alors pour une journée farniente mais pas plus!

Die "Zelte" sind top ausgestattet - Küche, Dusche und auch die Betten von guter Qualität. Unbezahlbar: der Blick von der grossen Veranda. Wir waren mit dem Boot unterwegs und haben viele Tiere gesehen - tolle Foto von Hippos machen können. Auch die Tour zu Fuss ist empfehlenswert.

Absolutely amazing place to stay, very clean, peaceful and right in the heart of nature. Loved every moment and everyday here. The neighbors were far enough for us not to hear them. Each unit had everything we needed plus more, hot tub and braai area. I would recommend this place every day of the week

From the location of the camp, to the boat-cruises and game drives and the bushveld on your doorstep (tent-step) this place is truly special. The hot-tub is a huge plus and loads of fun - even in winter. The sounds at night are invigorating at the same time that they are music to fall asleep by. Cannot fault this experience. Will definitely be back.

Absolute excellent camping experience the tents is designed like home and the hot tub was fabulous, food were well planned and presented, the guide on the river or lake tour were also the best and showed and learned us some things we did not know.

This Africamps, is exactly the same as all the others, but a 2nd fridge on the deck was greatly appreciated as the standard bar fridge in the unit in all Africamps units, is hopeless inadequate for a family of 4, staying 3 days or more. Great views of the dam and stunning wildlife setting with game roaming through the camp. The shop has no food to buy, unlike some other Africamps, besides a few chips and snacks. This Africamps is so far from a town that if you run out of food, going to a shop is out of the question. Only activities are fishing and game drives, all at additional costs as you may not do these by yourself . No place to exercise except a walk around campsite of just over 1km.
