Punka Pub Accommodation

While my husband enjoyed his seafood pasta, my meal was inedible and I returned it. If a venue offers vegan options, it shouldn’t be that the chef just removes all the non vegan items off the meal and adds nothing for flavor, then the venue STILL charges the full price for that flavorless food! I ordered the veggie burger (that looked nothing like the photos by the way). To make it a ‘vegan option’ the cheese and aioli was removed and so I was left with a dried out and inedible chickpea Pattie with lettuce, sauce and tomato. If this is a vegan option, where is the vegan friendly cheese and mayo? I could barely swallow the Pattie it was awful! Come on it’s 2024! Don’t charge me $25 for lettuce, tomato, bun, sauce and a dry Pattie. I can get that at a fast food venue for $9. The staff were friendly and welcoming

Tasty food. Fish and chips. Ginger prawn dumplings. Very helpful and understanding waitress who made sure my dietary requirements were adequately met. A very pleasant outlook and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Thank you

This pub is one of our go to’s in the cooler months, while we’re not Bright/Porepunkah locals we’re local enough for it not to be a half day trek to get there-NOT that it should matter either way. We’ve booked. That’s a guaranteed way to get a table. Right? Correct. Then we get there, we’re told “we’re pretty busy tonight so you’ve got…” and we’re told a time frame….now, we were a small family. Likelihood, but of garlic bread, mains and dessert/coffee. You might’ve had a party of 40 coming in at 7-7:30 however that doesn’t give you a right to treat your other patrons who have BOOKED (ie- you KNOW we’re coming) like second class citizens that need to be told to eat and p*ss off! Consider the likelihood that at 7-7:30 that we’re going to order another round of meals and really screw your big ticket booking up. You think that’s going to happen?! No, we would’ve been finishing up the food and would’ve been content to enjoy a couple of more drinks served by the lovely barman who COULD handle his workload. Instead we left. No dessert, no intention in going back possibly like the other table next to us who walked out saying “oh look! We’re leaving before we’re even supposed to be here”-their table was booked and they were obviously told to eat and p*ss off too. Point- if we’ve made the point of booking, we’re planning a night out. Don’t treat us like you’re doing us a favour by “squeezing” us in. We’ve booked. Your customers aren’t an inconvenience- they pay for the food and service. Don’t tell us you’re busy and you need us “out”. Learn to manage your bookings and staffing. Don’t let the young guy who was seating people and informing them of his inability to manage a workload to do that anymore. He’s not a good choice for front of house. And if you can’t handle the volume of bookings? Take the booking site offline so you can manually book by looking at seating plans and single book tables and seat walk ins opportunistically after if you can.

Excellent communication and lovely service. Food is lovely a variety of choices. The service was outstanding and one of the highlights of the day. Atmosphere was perfect and well worth the trip. Booking was easy online and from the comfort of your home.We had our daughters 18th birthday and they were very accommodating in every way. We will definitely be back thank you to everyone for a great day.

The pub , atmosphere, the food , the staff score a 10. Well done guys.We had beautiful weather so it was nice sitting outside soaking it all in , music playing from the speakers, everybody relaxed, it was a great afternoon.

Modern county pub. Vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff. Really enjoyed the quirky aspects including fish tank in the toilets. Bright and airy, with a decent pub meal. Definitely a great place to have a meal and share a bottle of wine if you are in the area

Porepunkah fire Brigade held their 5 yearly Awards night at The Punka Pub What a fantastic night our organisation has been treated to! The service was excellent and the meals were of a very high standard all delivered promptly with courteous service I cannot recommend this business more highly for an enjoyable night out Well done to the entire team👌 Michael

Sunday dinner yum. They make an excellent Chicken Parma. The local Punka Pub Shiraz is an excellent drop too. The atmosphere is light and breezy. We had a 6:30pm booking but should have come earlier to hear the live solo guitar musician - he was very good and not to loud that you couldn’t still talk. We only caught his last set before he packed up.
