Good stay in the heart of pondicherry. Very close to the beach and great vibe

Schönes Haus im touristischen Zentrum von Pondicherry, in kurzer Gehdistanz zur Strandpromenade. Das Zimmer im obersten Stock war interessant (Glaskubus) mit Sitzgelegenheit vor dem Zimmer. Das Zimmer war gut - für einen Aufenthalt im Ort durchaus geeignet. Leider waren Service und Restaurant ***gelhaft. Frühstück ohne Buffet, sehr beschränkt. Für den Abend werden Sondermenus angeschrieben, *** reserviert - und dann weiss das Personal von nichts! Zum Glück gibt es in Gehdistanz viele gute Restaurants.

I stayed here for two nights from 21st to 23rd February 2024 with my husband and we were extremely dissatisfied with our stay! We were in Room 14 on the top floor and had the following experience: - On check-in, our room and bathroom floor was filthy! Our feet literally turned black while walking barefoot and we had to complain, post which they mopped the floor and it got slightly better! The room was musty and that musty smell did not go throughout our stay! - The sofas in the room are visibly dusty and have no padding / cushioning at all. You literally feel like you're sitting on a rock. - The room door is entirely glass and allows sunlight to enter the room which is just impractical designing as you wake up every morning with abundant light entering the room! The door is also super flimsy and needs to be changed ASAP! - The reception has incompetent and inexperienced staff who just seem confused and unsure of what to do. Every time we raised an issue or requested for something to be done, the lady at the reception seemed unclear about how to resolve it and most times nothing was done! - There is major construction work going on at the plot adjacent to the hotel and while we cannot blame the hotel for this, the noise and dust is ridiculous! the hammering and drilling would start at 6 am (not sure how that's even legally allowed!). Not at all ideal for a vacation! The location of the hotel is fantastic and given that this is a TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice winning property and a Hidesign Hotel, we booked it. But the hotel is definitely run down and needs major upkeep and maintenance! There were other guests who had the same experience as us. FYI - there is no lift in the hotel so one has to climb stairs to the rooms which are on the higher floors. This should be highlighted for people with handicaps, health issues, etc.

Très bel hôtel et bien situé dans Pondichery. Proche restaurants commerces. Personnel accueillant et souriant. Copieux petits déjeuners. Style colonial. Décoration char***te. Chambre spacieuse. Climatisation utile. Dommage pas d'ascenseur et ne parle pas français.

I chose this hotel based on its reputation for blending colonial architecture with modern design. While the building itself retains charming, old-style elements, I found the rooms poorly maintained. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a smelly and unclean bathroom, necessitating an immediate cleaning request. Additionally, the mattress was damp and odorous, significantly disrupting my sleep, especially after a long and tiring drive when I was looking forward to some rest. In terms of exterior aesthetics, it's a classic colonial masterpiece, deserving a 5 out of 5 rating. However, the room experience was disappointing, meriting only a 1 out of 5.

We stayed at Le Dupleix for 2 days in September. It was not the first time for us since we had stayed here ***y times earlier and had liked the place and the service too. The Heritage property with it's old charm is really nice. But unfortunately this time we were disappointed with the maintenance and the overall service. When we checked in, the room was dirty. The shower was not working and only when we complained they changed it. Next day the AC was also not working and the fridge was stinking. In spite of our complaints there was no one from the hotel who came to meet and apologize to us.The ***ager was always outside when ever we complained during day time or evening and to our horror and surprise he even resorted to lying that we had abused him. May be he was doing this to cover up on his absence and lack of hospitality. Overall not a good experience! Would not recommend this unless the ***agement pulls up their sleeves and makes the necessary changes urgently.

Hotel bien ubicado en el centro del barrio francés de Pondicherry. el trato del personal es muy bueno pero es un hotel al que le falta mucho ***tenimiento y limpieza aunque su propietario quiere hacer creer que esto es debido a que todo el hotel es como un museo lleno de antigüedades. Habitaciones sucias, oscuras y ruidosas. El baño estaba sucio y muy falto de ***tenimiento.

Customer service by Ms.Padmini from Housekeeping team was excellent. Good hospitality. Rooms were maintained neat and tidy. She was punctual, polite and ready to provide services during odd hours. Always ready to render there services whenever required. Must visit place in Pondy!!

The stay was perfect and Mrs Padhmini saleem house keeping was a special mention for the comfort and care. Food was good and the only thing to be concerned is musquito and the construction sound from the nearer building.But that’s not a big issue for the stay.
