金沙灘賓館(Golden Beach Guest House & Rooftop Bar)

Situated right on Praia de Faro, this lovely Guest House is the perfect place to stay to explore the area. We travelled around the Algarve this summer and this was our starting point. Staff were so friendly. Great sized room with sea views and breakfast right outside our door in the morning with option to eat in or eat out on the terrace. Room had smart TV with youtube which we appreciated for our toddler! Guest House helped organise a taxi to take us to Olhao for our next leg of our trip. The beach itself is lovely and clean with golden sand and we enjoyed walking down the steps of the guest house right onto the sand. We also watched sunset on the beach one evening. Good choice of restaurants within walking distance. Also a nice little childrens playground next to it. Highly recommend and would stay again.

What a fabulous guest house. The staff were all helpful and friendly, the location is stunning, an excellent experience all around. Wish we had more time here!

The staff is most friendly and welcoming. Every question or request was met with a smile and patience, even the front desk staff she offered to walk with us to the bus stop for our tour pick up! The only thing so would say disappointing was the slow service on the rooftop. It has the best view and atmosphere and I hope they can be more attentive to customers. That’s why it was not busy as everyone went next door.

Well located beachfront guest house. Standard room small but adequate, clean, comfortable beds, great shower, lovely rooftop bar, nice included breakfast

Modern and comfortable. Staff lovely and helpful. Rooftop bar was being painted so unable to use this time but have done previously and nice place to watch the sunset. One of my favorites.

Cleanliness was disappointing… my AC unit blew air that smelled like mildew. Housekeeping fixed it a bit so it wasn’t as strong. I found bugs in my towels and around my bathroom, and upon leaving I saw two cockroaches in the hallway.

Expérience très négative malgré la gentillesse du personnel qui a tout fait pour minimiser notre déception au moment de découvrir la chambre qui nous avait été attribuée. 182 euros la chambre en entresol avec vue sur un mur et un escalier. Si on mesure 1,80, on peut voir un bout de mer et de plage. La chambre est si petite qu'on ne peut presque pas bouger ! Il n'y a même pas de place pour entreposer les valises qui doivent rester dans l'entrée ! Quand on a indiqué qu'on ne resterait pas (on avait réservé pour 5 nuits) on nous a d'abord dit que l'hôtel était plein puis on nous a trouvé une chambre un étage plus haut, avec une vue en effet différente (vue sur la mer c'est vrai mais aussi sur la rue, avec les conteneurs et un parc d'enfants). Autre problème d'importance, les avions passent au-dessus de l'hôtel à une cadence importante ! Le petit déjeuner du lendemain matin a fini de nous convaincre de partir et de chercher un autre hébergement. En effet, l'accueil dans la salle de restauration qui jouxte deux chambres (on s'interroge sur la nuisance sonore le matin pour ceux qui voudraient dormir tard...) est plus que froid, le café à la machine est mauvais, les deux sortes de confitures disponibles sont dans leur pot d'origine (la fraise était presque terminée et il nous a été répondu qu'il n'y en avait pas d'autre !!!). Pour le prix de la chambre (182 euros), on s'attend à un autre service tout de même et à autre chose qu'un self/service impersonnel et médiocre. Pour ceux dont le premier critère est l'accès direct à la plage, on peut peut-être oublier tous ces défauts mais quand on y regarde encore de plus près et qu'on souhaite profiter du soleil sur les 4 transats à disposition, on regrettera qu'ils soient placés en face d'une haie avec un mur dans le dos. Cette dernière remarque résume le problème majeur de cet hôtel dont la principale caractéristique est la volonté de profiter de chaque centimètre carré pour faire du profit. Tout est étroit et rien n'est pensé pour rendre le séjour aussi agréable que le prix le laisserait espérer. Pour terminer sur une note positive, la personne a l'accueil a appelé son responsable très vite lorsque nous avons décidé de ne pas rester les 5 nuits. Le séjour avait été réservé via Booking qui nous a remboursé sans frais avec l'accord du gérant. Aucune difficulté ne nous a été faite de ne rester qu'une nuit. Si nous n'avions pas réservé par Booking, il n'est pas certain que l'issue du désaccord aurait été différente...

Estadia escolhida com grande expectativa, pela localização, pelos cuidados de higiene descritos na apresentação, pelas boas avaliações... no entanto, foi uma grande desilusão. A vista de mar prometida não passou de uma janela alta, ao nível do passadiço e da escada de acesso à praia. O WC não apresentava limpeza adequada, o que é inadmissível em qualquer circunstância, mas sobretudo numa "era Covid". A presença de baratas durante a noite foi um autêntico terror. O pão que terá sobrado do dia anterior, misturado com o pão fresco ao pequeno almoço era dispensável. Apesar de outros aspetos positivos, como a simpatia e disponibilidade do staff e a localização, é uma guesthouse a não voltar...

My wife and l stay at this guesthouse from Sunday 10th of March 2024 until checking-out Friday 15th of March . The location was fabulous being ten minutes by taxi from Faro airport and 25 minutes by the water-taxi to Faro waterfront. The guesthouse was extremely well maintained and cleaned to an exceptional high standard rooms cleaned daily. Food was prepared and cooked by professional staff again to a high standard. The rooftop bar was nice to watch some of the most spectacular sunsets l've seen. The staff we very welcoming and kind and went to great lengths to make your stay enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble. Staff were very approachable and had a good knowledge of local amenities and pleasant to talk too and the customer relationship was to a high standard. Two beachfront restaurants next door gave you a choice of food again very good atmosphere and attitude toward customers. relations were highly rate
