拉包爾酒店(Rabaul Hotel)

La habitación que me dieron fue confortable y tenía aire-acondicionado, aunque estaba decorada de forma espartana, ningún lujo pero al lado de la piscina. La comida del restaurante fue bastante mejor que la que me dieron en el Reasons de Buca, que cada día era la misma. Me gusto la oferta de exclusiones que ofrecía el hotel por los alrededores, aunque caras en mi opinión. Está bien para recorrer los alrededores del volcán durante dos días.

A easy 20 minute walk from the port along Malaguna Rd (main St). We stopped in on the way to Yamamoto’s bunker. The drinks were cold and the Phoenix Restaurant menu is comprehensive. Asian styles, seafood and burgers. The staff are friendly, accomodating and the food is very high standard. Burger was great and the prawns amazing. Do yourself a favour and drop in and say hello to Susie and enjoy the ambience and the food.

After visiting the Volcano and hot springs, we popped in for lunch. One of the few buildings to survive the 1994 eruption, it is surrounded by reminders of that day along with the strong Japanese history from WWii. After Suzie and her crew put on a most wonderful Chinese spread, we were guided through General Yamamto's bunker (he was the head of the South Pacific forces)
