金頂旅館(Gold Vault Inn)

The property is very dated, lots of old carpeting, brown colors and old appliances/furnishings. Not a good value considering area around property and that the low cost of living. Staff basically ignores you and does not even greet you or even try to make eye contact, which would make me question the security of the property. Would not stay here again, but I could not secure a room on base.

First the lady at the front desk when we checked in was very rude to not only me, my husband and a friend who helped us (who was already a client there). Then around 2-3 in the morning a woman and her children had access to our room via key card that the front desk had given them. So they allowed complete strangers to come in our room in the middle of the night while me and my children slept!! Then around 6 am an office clerk was able to walk in on us again even with the chain locked! So we left shortly after that for home. I've spoke to the manager who apologized and we are waiting for a discount of some sorts of *******, we will see.

Getting our room an hour after check-in was disappointing after such a long drive. The staff at the desk were not the friendliest. The room was a good size and clean. We enjoyed the pool a lot. Adding hooks by the sink in the room would go a long way to hang a hand towel.

We were in town to see our son graduate at Fort Knox. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was out right on time, which helped us get to graduation early. Only complaint was the AC in our room had a broken knob and ran constantly.

Location Room had an odor; shower head was broken; tv remote had to be pressed mylt times to change the channel; beds were doubles vs Queen size

I love this hotel however I booked a room over two weeks in advance for a poolside room but did not get one when I got there. I stay once/month while my son does Army drills. The only other issue I have is that check out is at 11am and keycards seem to deactivate around 9am. While loading up I am unable to shut my door or get back inside when going out.

It's dated, but it's clean. We stay here often. Very laid back affair. As my dad would say, "It's not sexy, but it gets the job done."

When I came into my room on this frosty night, I attempted to turn on the heat. Unfortunately both nobs are broken. Also some uncomfortable areas include, a dime and pencil on floor next to the bed, what looks like a Skittle, and pink stains on the carpet.

Call ahead if you hoping to use the pool, It seems that the last couple times I booked it said the pool was available, however upon arrival it was closed for some reason. If they close it for the winter it should be noted in the listing, which it shouldn't be as its an indoor pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was fine...a bit short as it was only from 6am to 9am. No sleeping in on vacation if you want something to start off the day.
