瑪麗埃塔公寓酒店(Marietta Hotel & Apartments)

A "marmite" accommodation...you either love it or you don't. Some guests return every year to this family run aparthotel. The welcome you receive and the friendliness of the staff far outweigh the cons of what is typical Greek self catering apartments. First thoughts as you enter your room is that you are going back in time and the facility is basic but take time to look at what you have and you will see clean sheets and towels, a kitchenette with crockery, cutlery, glassware plus a new 2 ring electric hob, kettle and sandwich maker, albeit housed in an old brown wood set of cupboards. My bathroom had a bath with shower over, although others only had the wet room style shower and the water gets everywhere. My bath caught all the water so my room stayed nice and dry. A toilet and sink with bathroom cabinet and mirror finish the small but compact bathroom. Flooring is tiles so easy to keep clean. Rooms cleaned every other day and sheets changed 3 times in 9 days and towels once. A varied, home cooked menu is served in the bar area, drinks average cost 3.50 euro for a pint, 6 for short with soft drink. No entertainment as such in accom other than what you made in conversation with other guests - all very friendly - except a karaoke, bingo and quiz took off from June to September. Only had one cockroach in room and a few ants, removed the ants humanely and picked up cockroach and deposited in garden area. Only to be expected in this type of countryside. The Marietta has a nice swim pool, with very heavy sunbeds around it, more on the middle and top tiers of the building, although not too many umbrellas but plenty of shaded areas to move to if needed. There is a mini bus which a staff member drives and will take guests to Rhodes Town, Falaraki or the Cross on the Hill for slightly more than the local bus which runs in frequently from the village centre about 7 mins walk away. Pastida village has a selection of bars/restaurants, 3 supermarkets, chemists, excursion shop, and other shops to browse. Traffic is busy and no paths to walk on. Great Taverna at the west end of the village, worth the walk as the food is again all homemade and typically Greek dishes served, good portions and a free pud all for 10 to 15 euros depending on what you order.

Het appartement is netjes, lekker kleinschalig ( waar wij ieder jaar naar kijken) , basic , maar daar is de prijs ook naar. Appartement is schoon. Ieder appartement is anders. Wij hadden bovenste appartrment met heel veel balkon. ( zowel in de zon als schaduw). Pastida is klein, paar lekkere restaurants. Volgens TUI is er voldoende openbaar vervoer( niet dus bus alleen richting Rhodos stad,je doet er 1 1/2 uur over in rhodos stad te komen , bus rijd 1 x in de 2 uur als je geluk hebt en s'avonds uit Rhodos laatste bus om 19:30)dus helaas erg aan tijd gebonden. Dus geen regelmaat en weing keus om met de bus heen te gaan. Je word voor je reis bestokt met mails van dit of dit ( bijv Symi, Lindos, etc) kun je bijkoeken. Puntje bij paaltje komt er geen hostess en is dit allemaal niet te boeken omdat het appartement te ver uit de slinger ligt. Ook tijdens verblijf krijg je mails met boek dit. Dus in dit geval heeft TUI minpinten. Maar dat heeft niets met apartement te maken. Gelukkig via Mariette naar strand kunnen gaan, doordat Kosta ons iedere keer wilde brengen (tegen vergoeding) We hebben via jet2holidays uiteindelijk Symi geboekt. En een auto gehuurt via appartement.

50 euros for air con. 15 euros for wi fi. Keys welded together so you can't leave air con on when you're out. Seems like a hang out for sad old alkys. 20 km away from any place you would want to visit. 4 ft high shower, no tea or coffee, microwave e't'c.

Family run hotel, with Marietta at the helm, the perfect host with warm friendly atmosphere. Food was to cover everyone's tastes. Definitely recommend it.

Brilliant experience Marietta and family make you so welcome nothing is too much bother for them such a friendly atmosphere at pool read some unfair reviews which are not warranted if you have a problem speak to Marietta and she will get it sorted the rooms are cleaned every day and as for the food it is the best I have ever tasted home cooked and barbecue every night I have stayed here twice and have booked to go back again on two occasions next year

Great people, food amazing, rooms basic and outdated, but clean and tidy. Got a warm welcoming from start to finish. As for cockroaches I was in a ground floor and never saw one, I go prepared with sprays, if people don't like them, don't go abroad, you get them in every country.

I read reviews here before booking as new to travelling solo I wanted to make sure I chose the right destination. The apartments are a bit dated, not such a problem. What is a problem is the cockroaches. Several of them. I was offered another room when I complained and reassured there would not be any, well there was a massive one too. Once I complained the attitude of the staff changed. It was clear they weren’t happy I had contacted my travel company while there. The family themselves were very welcoming to begin with. However as soon as I asked them to remove the cockroaches it was played down then insinuated it was because I was so drunk and I had left the balcony door open, yet in the second room the bathroom window would not close. The solution to deal with them was a spray can, a supermarket one as I purchased several other cans to deal with them.There was toilet roll stuffed in gaps in the facings so they are obviously aware it’s an issue in that area. Other guest staying in the same area as me were also experiencing them. I spoke with guests around the pool who were staying over the other part of the building who didn’t seem to be having the same problem so possibly depends on the room you’re given. I ate in there the first night and food was ok but after seeing cockroaches I couldn’t eat in there. When I then advised I was getting an early flight home she shook her head at me like I was doing something wrong and couldn’t believe I was checking out because of cockroaches. I’m not talking about one cockroach!

Really dirty moved to another hotel because it was so dirty I booked a 1 bed apartment I ended up with 4 dirty beds and 2 that didn't fit the frames and I ended up sleeping on the floor because of it and there were cockroaches and the shower water didn't drain so u always showering in yesterday's water. It was filty. See pics Marietta is lovely but the place is filthty they didn't clean daily causing flys Also got cut by a nail hanging out mattress

First and last time for us visiting Marietta. Stayed there for 2,5 weeks with two kids and don’t recommend it to families or anyone who doesn’t like smoking/ passive smoking, drinking 24/7, yelling, dirty hotelrooms or bugs in them. During our long stay, our apartment (2 rooms, bathroom, balcony, kitchenette) was not cleaned properly even though we asked for it. After talking to the receptionist, our balcony was cleaned once and the floor was washed with water after my kid vomited. After that no proper cleaning, only sweeping the floors at the most. There were cockroaches in the hotel room three times. The first time, the hotel gave us poison and we had to poison the rooms ourselves. It was written on the jar that the substance is dangerous for children. The second time housekeeping poisoned the room while we were there. We had to buy poison, cleaning supplies and detergent for cleaning ourselves. The sheets in the room were changed only once during the 17 days. The towels were changed a few times, even when new they smelled bad, like a wet dog. The indoor unit of the air conditioner was covered in thick black dust. The seals on the floor of the shower cubicle were moldy. The toilet smelled strongly of sewage. The freezer compartment was full of ice. The kitchen counter was not cleaned once. There was no storage space for 4 people's clothes, the closet only had 6 hangers, no shelves. We had to store clothes in suitcases on the extra bed. There were indeed 3 beds in the second room of the apartment, but no dining table near the kitchen, where we could have eaten. There was a table and two chairs on the balcony, but cats from the street came there if we ate there. The cats also slept on our balcony. Sorry to say, Hotel Marietta is by no means worthy of 3 stars! We have stayed in several low-budget accommodations in Rhodes, and all of them have been better and cleaner than Marietta, and the staff has been more service-oriented. You should try more!
