Nice and cosy budget hotel. For me the main thing was the location - I've got friends in Richmond and wanted to stay nearby. The place is clean, polite, serves breakfast, has a microwave oven to warm up a takeaway. The room was small, but it's London and we need to be realistic here. I'd stay there again for sure!

Well, the title says it all. On entry to our room, the heat was unbearable with only the dirty radiator in the bathroom switched on. The bathroom was smelly. Not a toilet smell, more a damp smell but this isn't surprising given the damaged tiles around the bath. The curtains were tattered and the window catches broken. One socket is damaged so the plug doesn't go right in. The pillows are flat and the bed quite firm. The public hair on the sheet was unwelcome. Layers of dust on top of the wardrobe and mirrors and the dirty lampshade all add to my poor review. There is no option for food. I believe this hotel is just to make the owners money but they have no interest in upgrading or carrying out the repairs. I read similar reviews to mine during our stay from last summer. Would I stay here again? Definitely not!

This is NOT a hotel, it is a b&b without the breakfast. Stopped because it was the only place with availability for the dates. It cost over £300 for a Fri/Sat night stay. The “free” parking relies on availability in a small area able to accommodate five cars at best - in other words a parking lottery. The hotel is beneath the flight path of Heathrow air traffic, with continual flights after about 5am. Not great considering lack of double glazing. Room was tiny, tired and run down, shower filthy and bed an uncomfortable three quarter affair. This property should not be endorsed by Tripadvisor. Avoid at all costs. Can’t believe that some contributors gave it five stars.

We read some negative reviews after we booked but went ahead because it was value for money in Richmond. It’s located just behind the station, a short walk from the river and the wide choice of restaurants Richmond offers. I think some reviewers forget it’s a basic 2-star hotel. It does not offer breakfast, but has tea/coffee in the room. It’s very frayed, but clean with good hot water and they do fix stuff if you ask. There is a very nice looking 4-star boutique hotel across the road, but it was over £200 more expensive for the 3-nights we stayed. The Travel Lodge was about £100 more.

Totally disgusting and dirty receptionist was surprised when we checked out 10mins after arriving Stay well clear of this hotel it should carry an health warning to your life If you was to touch the tiles while getting our the bath or shower you would cut your hands to bits most probably

Booké for a night to explore Richmond. Hotel is well-situated, affordable, clean, comfortable and *has parking*. Quiet. We got a good night's sleep. Flawless service at check-in and check-out. No surprises. No complaints. Happy to recommend.

On making the booking we required a good location close to the centre also close to the tube which it ticks all of the boxes. The only negative was the size of the room we had room 12 which was tight however it was very cosy and clean and towels changed. I managed to get into the car park and a bonus was getting checked in earlier. Recommend

Recently stayed at the Shandon Hotel with a group of friends for a couple of nights. We had the best greeting from the lovely Sarah on reception together with Hazel - felt instantly at home. Easy to check in and free parking onsite up to about 5 cars. Location into Richmond town is perfect and close to the train station. This is purely a bed for the night although there is a communal kitchen/diner on the ground floor with added conservatory should you wish to buy your own food or have a takeaway delivered in. As a group, we spent both evenings in this area with our own food and drink and having fun! The hotel is situated over a number of floors so if you have mobility issues it would be best to ask for ground floor. Yes, the hotel is ‘tired’ but its location is exceptional, our beds and towels were changed after the first night (something you don’t get in ‘other hotels’) and there were plenty of toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities! Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again. You may pay extra somewhere else and have all the luxuries but at the end of the day it’s a bed for the night and money doesn’t buy excellent customer service - thank you again (from the sausage posse) to the wonderful Sarah and Hazel xx

It's basic and the price reflects that. It's a great position close to Richmond Train and Tube. Staff are always friendly and welcoming.
