Embassy Suites Rockford Riverfront

We just wanted a quick get away. It was a lovely hotel. Beautiful view of the river. The staff, all about the hotel, were friendly, helpful and kind. The room was comfortable. The food in all of the restaurants was excellent. The drinks in the bars were fun. We plan to come back during better weather to really get a feel and experience Rockford, and we will definitely be staying at this hotel.

Arrived with no parking at all three lots and was told to just park in the driveway, which felt unsafe with cars driving through. Then was given a room with a “hotel king” which is not a true king size bed, even though I’ve stayed there before and was given a true king. I paid a significant difference between a queen and king room, and was basically given a king bed. Wish they were more truthful with advertising and would’ve been more accommodating.

The inside property and rooms was very clean, besides the outside front had food thrown all over! It was very cold so it is understandable as to why as it was not cleaned up. Called the hotel directly for early check in and was on hold for 25 minutes just be put on hold again!

The offsite paid parking was a shock, but more so was the fact that little or no instruction was given as to where or how to find parking. I had to ask specific questions to get any information at all. No info on easier unloading ideas or places to park temporarily while unloading baggage. The reception hour was not at all similar to other Embassy properties, and was less than welcoming. I typically love Embassy properties, but this one was less than impressive.

My wife used to work in the Amerock factory in this building. Lots of history and pictures about Amerock. Excellent food in the LL restaurant. Very clean everywhere.

This is by far the premier hotel in Rockford. It’s brand new and boasts of a wonderful history which is built into and annotated throughout the hotel. The free morning breakfast is delicious with homemade omelets made to order and a plethora of other food choices. Nightly there is a free drinks, appetizers and desserts. I don’t know where they get the desserts from but they are decadently delicious. The rooms are spacious and the perfect mix of historic and new. High ceilings and beautiful windows. I enjoy jogging along the River next to the hotel or walking to the restaurants. The roof top bar and restaurant is also amazing.

The only isssue I came across was the homeless panhandling as soon as you walk outside, still on Hotel property. The hotel needs to address this issue promptly. Every time I walked outside I was confronted. Even drivers picking up guests were confronted by the homeless.

Great stay at the Embassy Suites in Rockford! This is our go to hotel whenever we’re in town visiting friends and family. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and updated, the cook to ordered breakfast are good and the gym facilities are terrific.

Stay was excellent except for the food at the social hour. I'm used to many more options of food than was offered at this location. Also only gave 2 drinks I believe its 3 every where else I've stayed.
