My wife and I wanted a short trip away in a comfortable place with good food within walking distance. The Old Manor provided it to perfection! Graham, the host, has converted an old run down building into a perfect B&B. He has designed convenience and comfort into the build and has thought of so many small and nice touches. Plenty of well marked parking spaces, including some with electric charging points. A single key that operates the front door, back door and room. A comfortable shared lounge with free tea/coffee. Lights in corridors which automatically turn off. Secondary double glazing providing great sound proofing from the nearby road. Small fridge in room with fresh milk for tea/coffee, along with the usual kettle etc. Very wide and comfortable bed with high quality linen. Shower room with ultra soft fluffy towels. Couldn’t fault a thing! Breakfast was served in a separate room with a great choice of cereals, juices, homemade bread and jams, and the offer of a full cooked breakfast, cooked to order. A great start to any day! In the evening we had booked a table at The New Inn, which is directly across the road. This was a great pub with high quality pub food and very welcoming service. I was glad we had booked in advance as it was full on a Tuesday night. We had such a good meal we then rebooked for the following evening. The standard menu is reasonably basic (but good), but there were also excellent specials on the blackboard. Perfect!

Well run place, breakfast could have included more food

Myself and my partner stayed here for a night, and ended up really enjoying our stay so we booked again for the following night. We really couldn’t fault the B&B, it was clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking and the late night check in was easy. Everything was well thought out, and the coffee machine in the lobby was a lovely touch (which made delicious hot chocolate). Breakfast both mornings was great, and the homemade bread and jams were both very nice additions. We were really impressed with the jams that we ended up taking some back home with us. Graham was super attentive at breakfast both mornings, clearing away any used plates, and topping up the continental area as needed. I’d say the only downfall was that we could hear a fair bit of noise from our room. For example on our second night the guests staying in the room opposite arrived back to their room in the early hours of the morning, and we could hear them arguing, slamming doors, walking around on the wooden floorboards in high heels etc, so we struggled to sleep for a few hours that night. But don’t let this put you off staying at this B&B (I’m sure most guests would have more respect and this isn’t a common issue!) Overall we really enjoyed our stay here, the B&B is situated in a good location - very close to cheddar. It’s spotless, has comfy beds, a good shower and the breakfast is great. We would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous place to stay . Graham is a great host - rooms are spotless and beds very comfortable. Free tea and coffee in the lounge available until 9pm . The home cooked breakfast is delicious. Can’t fault this accommodation. Highly recommended.

Amazing stay as usual. First guests in the Graphite room since it had been refurbished… excellent! Breakfast as usual was cooked to order and delicious, as was the rest of the breakfast with plenty of choice and the homemade jams and homemade bread finished it off. Will definitely be staying again. Thank you Graham for a great stay.

Full of character but tastefully modernized. Large room and bathroom. Great running trail nearby.

The owner is very friendly and accommodating. He provided a bed rail for our little boy. Nice little garden. Amazing breakfast with a good selection of home made products, cereals and yoghurts. I purchased a jar of home made jam as it was so nice. I would definitely recommend this B&B.
