蒙特斯特拉酒店(Hotel Montestella)

Arrivati nel centro di Salerno con un po di fatica. Accolti bene.

Posizione ottima. Colazione turno delle 10 terminato quasi tutto.

Die Lage in der Fußgängerzone ist perfekt. Zu Fuß vom Bahnhof zu erreichen. Der Empfang ist völlig ok, die Mitarbeiter alle sehr freundlich. Unser Zimmer im 4. Stock (von 5) gut ausgestattet, modern, ein großer Balkon. Das Bett sehr bequem. Das Bad ausreichend mit allem, was man braucht. ABER: - im Zimmer war es wahnsinnig heiß, die Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht (Febr), die Balkontür offen lassen ... draußen viel zu laut. Sehr hellhörig, man kann den Gesprächen im Nebenzimmer problemlos folgen. Viel Technik für die Beleuchtung, aber mitten in der Nacht gingen die Lichter an. Die WC Spülung brauchte gutes Zureden, die Dusche lief nur mit herausgenommen Aufsatz dennoch schlecht ab. Die Balkone haben keinen Sichtschutz, der Nachbar schaut ins Bett - es gibt nur Verdunklungsvorhänge. Die Zimmertür ist alles andererals dicht, dh nachts Beleuchtung vom Flur mit entsprechender Lärmbelästigung anderer Heimkehrer. Der Frühstücksraum fensterlos (nur im Dach) und echt kalt. Man muss sich alles am Buffet holen, was nicht schlimm wäre, wenn man nicht für Klappen o.a. 2 Hände bräuchte und es quasi keine Abstellfläche für die riesigen Teller gäbe. Butter, Marmelade usw und Joghurt einzeln verpackt, Obst aus der Dose. Die Rühreier immer kalt und hart. Es gibt also schon Auswahl, aber das Frühstück ist nicht gut. 2 Kaffeeautomaten, mit allem, was man sich in Italien wünschen kann, einer funktionierte immer, der Filterkaffee daneben ungenießbar

This is not a four star property. The location is great and the staff are very good and Salerno is a good spot for visiting many other destinations close by. I had a premium room with a terrace and it’s nice to watch the people walking on the Corso at night. There wasn’t much outside noise to be heard in the room but internal walls are thin. If you are unlucky enough to get active neighbours you can hear a Lot more than you would like during the night. The breakfast spread was basic but adequate and the young staff try hard. The shower is very small! The hotel upkeep is not as good as the photos suggest. But if you want a hotel in Salerno it’s perfectly ok, if you get inactive and quiet neighbours.

Staff are outstanding; check-in was smooth and professional. The location is right on the Strauss, Malecón or walking only area with plenty of shopping and dining choices. Hotel is less than 600 metres from Siracusa estazione treno and laundromat nearby for travellers running thin on a clean change. The bad: No functioning air conditioning A/C; this was only magnified after a long hot train trip arrival with failed A/C on the train - like cooking sardines in the can - no respite from a hot night at the hotel. Every hotel has its challenges and A/C has been in demand with the hot Italy weather - staff were unable to find a solution, not even a fan to move some air. No alternate rooms. The fancy room lighting and A/C in-suite control system is a fail. Additionally, the bathroom Reno is aging and some less than ideal fixture choices were made - very cramped - sweating toilet tank drips on seat, seat misaligned with bowl adding to discomfort. There are some products available that can improve the space, such as: small corner sink, small tank corner toilet (lined to prevent sweating. In reality the space is too small to function as a credible “Hotel” bathroom space. A pocket door (slider) may buy more access to the space - how to retro-fit this with stone construction is a question. Not a good night a Hotel Montestella in Salerno.

L’hotel a primo impatto risulta carino, ma con un banco della reception in stile vintage. Stanza carina, ma il bagno è veramente da rifare … troppo vecchio per un 4 stelle. Le sedie in stanza erano impolverate, il materasso era scomodo e i cuscini troppo piatti. È vero che in stanza c’erano altri cuscini, ma gli involucri ci sembravano impolverati e non abbiamo voluto usufruirne. Per concludere l’hotel non è bocciato, ma avrebbe bisogno di cure e di più attenzioni.

Good Great room, nice AC, really clean, great location. Bad Hospitality is missing, staff is sometimes rude, the older man was. Only one staff, the younger man was polite and warm, all others are indifferent. Feels like they are angry you are there. If you ask them something they will say they don’t know and to figure it out. Probably normal there, but quite a shock if you’re from Canada where hotels have high levels of hospitality. Overall a nice hotel and decent breakfast with a great location so probably worth the bad service.

Ho pernottato solo per un giorno e devo dire che ho dormito veramente bene , mi sono riposato come non mai dopo una giornata passata a visitare i luigi vicini a Salerno. I servizi e la struttura erano molto puliti e il personale molto disponibile.Ci tornerò volentieri se ne avrò la possibilità, se avete offerte nei prossimi mesi penso che prenderò in considerazione di fare altri giorni in quest'hotel. Grazie è stata un esperienza molto bella.
