You can feel the unique and loving care put into restoring this Motel. I loved all of the artistic touches with sculptures in the garden and artwork everywhere. And I appreciated the care for honoring the mid-century history of the place - like the telephone switchboard panel displayed in the lounge. The breakfast served included delicious granola from a local restaurant and quality yogurt. The room itself was clean and comfortable.

Loved my stay here. I stayed here one time in the past & enjoyed it, so when I was in the area again this was the first place I thought of. I was in Santa Rosa a little over a week for work, and everything from the clean rooms & friendly staff to the granola(my favorite) made my experience in SR much better. The staff was very accommodating, and this will probably be the only place I’d like to stay whenever I’m in Santa Rosa again.

Wall heater went on was like trying to sleep next to a 747 jet engine; incredibly loud and stiflingly hot; alternative was to turn it off and freeze. Bare concrete floors were extremely cold; "breakfast" consisted of decent coffee, yogurt, granola and apples.

This property is managed very poorly and "cheaply"! They have pulled the carpets from the room, painted the concrete floors and stuck a couple of dirty old rugs on the floor that are more of a fall danger than protection. No elevator, breakfast was a large pot of water downed coffee and apples!

We love our stays at The Astro. It is a groovy, friendly, fun experience every time. The rooms are clean, the location is lovely, the gardens are a fantastic place to sit and relax, it is bike-friendly, and the price is always right. It's also a Sonoma local experience with great recommendations from the Spinster Sisters. There are cool restaurants, breweries, and bakeries nearby. You can walk to anything in downtown Santa Rosa. We use it as a base for exploration of the Sonoma Coast and area. I would recommend The Astro to anyone

We were just there on 11/22-23, and all the staff, esp the man on night duty (Matt) were friendly and efficient! The breakfast was a nice treat! And the place is within walking distance to some nice parks and dinner spots. The room was clean and thank you for the slippers! The floors were cold, but we were able to warm up the room with the heater. Appreciated the neat decor and the overall vibe of the place. Authentic and unique! We'll come back for sure. I'll put a review on Trip Advisor.

The motel was fixed up nicely. It was contemporary and quirky decor. Very clean and comfortable. The shower was excellent! It was a little noisy during the night with street noise. The “breakfast” was only coffee and yogurt. But the homemade granola was delicious. I sat outside in the garden and it was quiet and lovely.

Fun, kitschy motel in excellent location across from Luther Burbank, easy walk to 1st street shops and bars.
