長船汽車旅館(Long Ships Motel)

The shower was moldy. The bathroom floor was wet. There was one coffee cup for 4 people. They *****ped the room without us turning in our key. Other than the location, this place is a roll of the dice.

A charming, family owned and run hotel - from yesteryear. The staff are so obliging and friendly. The rooms are cute. Close to all the main shops and attractions in Sault Saint Marie. Most importantly you can see the ships passing from some of the front rooms and hear them! It's very exciting. You feel apart of the action.

Arrived to a wet floor and a moldy bathroom caulking in the bathroom. Few channels on the tv even worked. AC barely pumped air. One coffee cup for four people. Went to get coffee at 7AM with the group. Came back an hour later and the bedding was *****ped. We had not checked out yet. Car was parked in front and some of our belongings were still in room. Management did not follow up. Claiming "the email was lost in the junk folder." Other than the cute doors and the good location to downtown, there is just not much to say that is positive about the cleanliness or service that added stress to a vacation.

The room was clean and newly remodeled. Inside it looked great. However, one very important part - namely the sleeping accommodations, were not replaced - but should have been. The mattress was the size of an enlarged double and the only passage between beds or on either side was to walk sideways. That was the least of our problems. This is obviously an older motel that's been updated. However, the mattresses were simply worn out. Hopefully, these will be the next thing replaced. If not, we surely won't be returning.

Great location! Right across from the locks. Walking distance to food and shops. Holly at the front desk was very friendly and knowable of the area. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Rooms are being remodeled. Remodeled rooms are small but nice. Maid service everyday. (Larger chain hotels don't even offer this service anymore). Cleaning staff spent a lot of time in each room cleaning. They don't offer breakfast, but nice coffee shop 1/2 block down. Family owned.

Had a wonderful stay during 3 night visit for the Bay Mills Pow Wow. The location is great. Right downtown with everything one needs within walking distance and locks right across the street. Our room was fairly small but clean. The air conditioner worked well. There is no "free" breakfast but there is a room coffee maker and The Lockview Restaurant is right down the street and others a little farther. Will stay here again next year. Making the reservation was easy as was a change I had to make later. Also received a number of email confirmations before the stay. All in all a decent small older motel for the price if you aren't picky, picky.

Location, location, location! If you're in the Soo to watch the ships, this is the place to be. The locks are right across the street and restaurant and gift shops are all within walking distance. The staff was freindly, the place was very clean. It does lack some elbow room but it it worth it for the location.

We loved this motel. From the check in with Becky at the front desk and all through our two day stay everything was wonderful. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, nice shower with good water pressure, nicely decorated. We especially liked stepping from our car right into the room. This confidence was a bonus for us. Becky helped with local information and suggestions for restaurants and such. She was great to chat with and I enjoyed her friendliness which was another added bonus for us. The motel was in close proximity to activities and sites that the Soo has to offer yet on the far end our of the traffic and busyness of the town. Our favorite activity by far was the locks and dams observation platform. We spent close to two hours on the top level watching ships lock through the dams. Things were so close to the hotel driving was not necessary. This motel did not offer a breakfast which most hotels provide these days, but that was just fine for us. We were happy to grab breakfast along our daily journeys. A refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot were in the room so if having breakfast at the motel before you set out for the day is important to you, bring along some items for the fridge and microwave. We really, really enjoyed this motel and will choose it again when in the area.

This motel was a pleasant surprise and was way above our expectations. They are newly remodeled. The room was clean and comfortable. The room had a refrigerator and TV. It is walking distance to all the bars and shops in town. We would definitely stay here again. The price was right as well!
