Sea Dogs 賓館(Sea Dogs Guest House)

Booked here through ********** Nov’20 for a concert Sept’21. We thought this looked cheap and cheerful and handy to venue so only paid £48 per room. Time went by from booking but when date finally arrived we were pleasantly greeted by male host, although very oddly informed we needed to settle balance. This didn’t sit home with me, but felt pressured by him hovering and an ounce if doubt was that I hadn’t, after he informed me I could bot have paid for this already as was a ‘pay later’ reservation. He suggested cash, but I point blank refused and paid via the email confirmation (which said ‘pay balance’), which allowed me to, so I thought I mustn’t have. We proceeded with stay. Rooms clean but very basis. Plenty of places nearby for breakfast than there. My kettle was disgusting inside so I didn’t dare have a cuppa. Otherwise room was ok for our needs (3x females staying). My friend’s room was nicer, I’d say, but shared bathroom, whereas mine en-suite. Walk to theatre/Peasholm Park is approx 15mins. I still felt unsettled about the payment issue and upon checking was charged at time if booking and I believe the property have pulled a fast one due to the timescale and hoping I wouldn’t remember, to pay again. £96 they have scammed me out of! I feel sick to the stomach and stressed to bits! I would have considered staying here again but my skin crawls at having been taken advantage of! Be very careful as I’ve since discovered this isn’t the first time this has happened with this property!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my partner and son, Dave was lovely and welcoming, room was lovely and clean! Shared bathroom but this wasn’t a problem at all, breakfast was delicious (one of my favourite things about going away haha!) only issue was parking as it was quite busy but we managed. Would definitely stay here again :)

Room light,clean,tea and coffee,decent TV and WiFi,comfy bed,nicely decorated, clean carpet underfoot after a day walking . Good location. Experienced host knows how to treat solos. V relaxed stay. Thanks v much

Lovely place to stay, room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Dave the owner very helpful over the parking situation. Great location plenty of lovely places to visit and some lovely walks. Highly recommend this B/B, and we certainly will be booking again, thank you Dave, kind regards Teresa

had an overnight stay here during the sunny warm weather we experienced earlier in June. really nice location, short walk to the beaches, and the town centre. the owner Dave is friendly and welcoming, and the accommodation is clean and comfortable. good relaxing stay, highly recommended.

I often enjoy a solo visit to Scarborough and stayed here August 2020 and again June 2021. The location is excellent, very close to Peasholm, the Open Air Theatre and North Bay beach. South Bay is well within walking distance for me too. The owner Dave is friendly and welcoming. There is currently still no option of breakfast due to Covid restrictions but that suits me fine. Both times I’ve stayed in Room 5, single at the front on the first floor. A bit of traffic noise but then again I always have the window open. Big enough room with plenty of drawer space and the bed is very comfy indeed. A shared bathroom will not be to everyone’s taste. A decent budget guest house.
