Der Schwan Hotel & Restaurant

Ein einziger Flop! Wir haben für eine Geburtstagsfeier einen Raum für 15 Person ab 18 Uhr gebucht. Die Beköstigung sollte a la Carte erfolgen und es wurde uns die große Speisekarte zugesagt. Tatsächlich war dann nur die kleine Auswahl angebpoten. Bei der Bestellung wurde der Auftraggeber gefragt, ob auf den rustikalen Tischen Tischdecken aufgelegt werden sollen, was dieser bejahte. Mit der Rechnung kam dann die böse Überraschung: Es wurden 37,50 Euro berechnet, obwohl niemand darauf hingewiesen hat, dass dies gesondert berechnet wird. Das Essen war durchwegs schwach. Bei den Kalbsschnitzeln war mehr Paniermasse als Fleisch! Bei den relativ teuren Hauptgerichten (die auch nicht besonders gut waren) mußte der Salat extra bezahlt werden. Der Gipfel der mißglückten Geburtstagsfeier kam aber noch zum Abschluß: Als die Gäste die auf den Tischen aufgestsellten drei einzelnen Rosen als Souvenier mitnehmen wollten, wurde ihnen erklärt, dass diese Dekoration auch für den nächsten Tag verwendet wird. Als ich dem Personal zu vertstehen gab, dass bei der Bestellung zwei Blumengestecke vereinbart gewesen seien und diese nicht vorhanden waren, sagten die Bediensteten, dass sie von nichts wüßten und sie müssten in der Garage nachsehen, um mir dann diese Gestecke noch in Rechnung zu stellen, wenn sie dort gelagert sind. Ich gab zu verstehen, dass dies das Letzte sei, denn die Gestecke sollten die Feier verschönern und ich würde die nicht genutzten Gestecke auf keinen Fall bezahlen. Die Geburtstagsgäste waren alle geschockt und werden dieses Lokal nie mehr bertreten

Bellissima struttura tipica in posizione strategica lontano dalla confusione di Norimberga tipica del periodo dei mercatini di Natale! Il personale è molto accogliente e le stanze sono pulite e curate in ogni dettaglio. Colazione ricca e parcheggio in strada trovato sempre senza problemi. Abbiamo anche approfittato della cena al ristorante..cibo davvero ottimo!

This characterful hotel with super restaurant & beer garden is about 25kms south of Nuremberg in lovely countryside. My room was amazing as I believe the building is 700 years old but service & amenities are all 21st century. Dinner was top quality local food and well presented. Der Schwan is family run and the local staff very efficient. Well worth checking out if you are nearby.

This hotel is special. From the moment you step through the door you are transported back in time and enveloped in its unique and historic atmosphere. Dating from the 1630s the building is full of character and charm. The room was spacious and furnished with a mix of crafted furniture and antiques. The food in the restaurant is exceptional and the portions are very generous. It was very pleasant to eat our meal in the courtyard surrounded by mature planting. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is great for exploring the Bavarian region of Germany and it’s about a half hour drive by car to Nurenberg which is extremely handy for the airport. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return

Really friendly and welcoming staff. We stayed for 1 night, ate dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the next morning. Everything was really good - especially considering the good prices. Perfect distance from the Autobahn. Will stay here next time we go skiing in Austria.

Ok, so we found this gem as stop off on our journey with 4 kids from Lüneburg to Brixen im Thale. The hotel: fabulous wooden frame building keeping all the character of the exposed beams and antique furniture and that has been renovated to modern expectations and standards. Clean, comfortable and everything you need. A real privilege to stay in such a building. The restaurant: delicious, local food, wine and beer. We have 4 kids and there was something for all of us and the kitchen is very flexible for those wishing something more individual (!). The weather allowed us to eat outside in their relaxed cobbled beer garden amongst the shade of the trees. Babies, dogs and smaller portions for the smaller appetites, all welcome. The breakfast: delicious spread, arranged by the friendly and dedicated staff. So, as I said...I don't really want to tell you about this little gem...but it is too good not to.

Outstanding Hotel, fantastic food (would recommend the peanut Ice-cream or waffles for dessert) and beautiful, comfortable rooms full of character. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The beer garden has a relaxing feel with it's ivy clad walls and cobblestone paving. So much character and history in this hotel! Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a more authentic experience than your average chain hotel can offer

Wirklich großartig! Tolles, altes Haus mit viel Geschichte, einzigartige Zimmer, neues Badezimmer im Zimmer - alt und neu liebevoll zusammengebracht. Das Abendessen fanden wir sehr lecker und die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder :-)
