公爵酒店(Dukes Inn)

Visiting friends who moved to the town, and had Dukes recommended. Went on discount fish & chip night. Really tasty fish in great batter; great valuer - recommended. Wide range of drinks. Very friendly and informative staff. Well worth a visit.

Warm welcome on arrival. Our room overlooked the street and was quiet. It was also clean and comfortable. Lovely bed linen and fluffy towels. Very good freshly cooked breakfast with plenty of choices. A vast array of cereals fruit and pastries too. Staff were helpful and friendly. We even went back for coffee before we left Sidmouth. We would certainly stay again.

Terrific service, great value for money and lovely breakfast, with plenty of choice. Really handy for Sidmouth Town Centre and Seafront. Rooms spotlessly clean with everything you need. The only negative point I would say is, there's no lift to the bedrooms. (or I don't think there is) Couldn't ask for more!

Although I have visited Dukes for drinking (previously the Marlborough twenty years ago) I have not had to stay there as a hotel before. I got an online deal as there were multiple places I would have liked to try but I was very fortunate with the choice I made. My room was comfortable and clean with a little more room than I’m used to as a hotel standard. The location is excellent on the sea front and there is some ltd parking for residents at the side. Apart from the incredibly good value in online deal, what sets Dukes aside was the staff, friendly and helpful, all of them. I value efficiency first but the staff were both almost eager to please without fawning and providing service. Kudos for the breakfast excellent sausages (easy to get wrong) and perfectly cooked, to my taste, poached eggs. I have friends regularly staying in my beloved Sidmouth and I will be recommending Dukes

Management just didn't care and was spineless when challenged about the very slow service. No one seemed to be in charge and they was not nearly enough staff serving customers. Food was so slow arriving and they did not respond when asked about it. We left without eating, abandoned the order as too long to wait..

Very relaxing sitting in Dukes lovely conservatory, great atmosphere very polite and attentive staff. Such a choice on the menu , their daily special of hake was fantastic, delicious crumble for pudding, I would highly recommend. Very reasonably priced, a good choice on the regular menu also.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, staff were so welcoming as soon as I stepped through the door and through out the stay. Absolutely perfect sea view, just what I needed. Thank you :)

We visited here today for lunch, 6 of us plus our dog and had a lovely experience. Wonderful menu, beautiful setting and the most lovely staff. They were all so friendly, attentive and super efficient. We all enjoyed our food and drinks and loved sitting outside in the sun. Thoroughly enjoyed by all and looking forward to going back soon.
