Stayed here for 5 nights. Had to change rooms for the last night as our room was not available for 5 nights. Obviously the hotel was aware and I had mentioned it at 10am that morning at breakfast when I was due to change rooms. I was told the new room I was moving into was empty the night before and then I was told they had checked out already and was informed I’d still have to wait until 3pm. I asked could the room be prioritized as I have to check out at 11am and I do not have a car as I was waiting on the other guest to return at 6pm and I will just be waiting around the lobby and bar on my own and I’d rather be able to watch tv or shower in the room as I had no where to go. I work in a hotel so I am well aware to do our best to accommodate and prioritize guests especially if they’ve already been here all week and paying a lot of money including food and drinks. The notes on the booking would have informed staff I was moving room and accommodation would also know. I was sitting for nearly 5 hours in the bar on my own clearly waiting on the room before anyone even enquired with accommodation or let accommodation know I was waiting. I asked the staff each time I went up for a drink to please let me know and asked Lauren if she could prioritize my new room as I’m siting in the bar for hours waiting on my own or even move me to another room that was the same standard if one was empty and I was told I would be informed when it is ready. I know the hotel was not full the night before so there was plenty of empty rooms available. Several hours later at 3.10pm after waiting since before 11am and after several people checked in since before 2pm! I was informed my room was ‘ready’. It takes 20 minutes to clean a room. Whether the room was empty the night before like one staff member told me or whether it was one of the first rooms to check out like I was informed it was also, housekeeping would have done it straight away while they were waiting for the other rooms to check out at 11 so it was more than likely ready before I even checked out of my old room before 11am. It was absolutely unnecessary to leave me clearly at the bar on my own for nearly 5 hours sitting there! We stay in the area monthly for nearly a week and we said we would try the Egypt Mill Hotel for a change and we will never return due to this experience. Breakfast service was also poor, we had it included in our packed for 5 mornings but only availed of it twice as it was very disappointing the first morning we tried it. Waited over 15 minutes one morning to be served and I was the only person in the room. On Friday morning at 10.15am before we checked out, we both went into the breakfast room to grab some continental breakfast as we did not fancy hot food and was told it was all gone, the continental table had been taken away also. I was told all that was left was a croissant behind in the kitchen. We had no cereal, no juices, no breads, nothing to choose from! This was very strange c
