橡樹林民宿(Oak Grove Bed and Breakfast)

The place was a very nice historical home with all the historical characteristics. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating to our needs and our furry baby:) The food was great! The shower was very nice and hot!!! The bed was comfy and clean and warm with plenty of blankets.I guess the only thing that I personally didn’t like was the smell of wood stove that lingered through the room and the lady bugs that were there. However, the stay was very nice and I loved seeing and reading about the history of this 1800s home!

We had a relaxing getaway. The hosts were a pleasure to become acquainted with and gave us all the information we needed to keep ourselves and our two dogs entertained during our stay. The walk through the woods in back was just what we needed the 1st morning to begin our vacation. We enjoyed the local restaurants, who would think the little town of South Boston would have a Cuban/Peruvian restaurant!

The hostess was very inviting and accommodating. The room was immaculate, the entire property was serene, and beautiful.

What a unique experience! The owners are lovely and kind, and their two dogs are sweet! The food was delicious! I was blown away by how eco-friendly the house is—dual flush toilets, rain barrels, solar panels, tankless water heater, electric vehicle charging station, etc. I really enjoyed learning about the history of the property. It’s been in the owner’s family for 200 years and they’ve diligently documented its story. There’s lots of space/trails to walk. We stayed in the library room which has a neat stove, lots of books, etc.

The plantation home is Beautiful with a lot of history and a lot of wood work by a NC artist from Milton NC. The home is very clean , great bed to sleep in and cozy place to stay. The breakfast was a broccoli quiche and delicious. The owners were exceptional and their dogs were so loveable.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at Oak Grove Plantation. We were given a full explanation of where to find what we needed and how to operate things like the door lock. The owners were very pleasant to talk to, but they also gave us space to be by ourselves when we weren't having breakfast. The grounds are very quiet and worth taking the time to walk around. Guests should know in advance that there are 3 large dogs on the property who are quite lovely, but one might want to be aware of them in case of allergies or fear of dogs. The breakfasts were moderate in size, tasty, and served on antique plates from the family. Learning about the family history and the property was also a plys for us.

Amazing place to stay.. very inviting.. amazing views and history of the property.. just absolutely gorgeous 😍.. we stayed upstairs the main part of home with 2 bedrooms to ourselves and bathroom.. very nice

This is a lovely place in every way! The beautiful house is part of a family farm of 400 acres. It is private and quiet and has a great walking area through a towering patch of bamboo that leads to an old family cemetery. My bedroom was in a grand library and had its own bathroom. The bed was comfortable and I slept with the windows open and woke up hearing birds singing. The breakfasts were delicious and the proprietor was thoughtful in asking about food preferences. She is a wealth of knowledge about local history and landmarks. This BnB has also been recognized for “f Green” initiatives and boasts a charging station. This is one of my favorite BnB’s I’ve been to yet.

Beautiful old home and grounds. Perfect place for a quite get away.
