麥丁利大堂酒店(Madingley Hall)

Me and my daughter loved Madingley Hall, and the beautiful grounds. We knew about the location before we booked, so we knew it is a 15 minute taxi-ride to the centre. An excellent breakfast is included - for diner you usually have to go out. Definitely book if you are looking for a beautiful country estate, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, beautiful lawns to relax on and some peace from the busy city of Cambridge!

Er du ute etter et fredfullt og stille opphold i rolige flotte naturomgivelser, er dette stedet for deg. Her bor man i ekte engelsk stil med engelsk frokost. I parkanlegget kan man bevege seg helt fritt døgnet rundt. Ta med deg en pint å sett deg i hagen. Meget enkel og rask innsjekking av hyggelig personell. Det serveres ikke middag her, men det er ikke noe problem. Det er kun 10 min gange ned til Three Horses Shoes som er et prisbelønnet spisested/pub. Her er det alltid masse gjester, så husk bestille bord. Matservering frem til kl.21 og pub oppe til kl.23.

Magnifique château et parc Chambre située dans les dépendances complètement dépassée nécessite une rénovation complète : salle de bain salle et vétuste (cordon pour allumer la lumière et lavabo avec 1 robinet eau chaude et 1 robinet eau froide…!) Pas de climatisation Pas de frigidaire

The garden at that place is fabulous. That’s it. The room I was in had not been renovated since many many years, old carpet, smelly room, very poor thermal shower insulation, bathroom was a joke with detached linoleum. Thankfully that was still clean (bath & toilet & bed - the cleaning staff is doing a good job). Body soap was awful, thankfully the hand soap was ok. It should be better advertised as dorm room / hostel and not as a hotel.

Very pleasant staff, the room was more than adequate for a good night's sleep and all the essentials worked. Good breakfast choice and the buffet staff are very attentive. There are students there, but all very polite and stay out of your way too. Took a walk around the grounds and it is actually picture perfect. Thank you.

Hele mooie site, in the middle of nowhere. Ruime kamer, netjes maar een raam sloot niet. Ontbijt was ok maar basic.

Very reasonably priced room Great hotel, great bar food reasonably priced, great breakfast and very helpful staff. Only downside being the shower was a trickle at best

Terrible. Room was freezing with very luke warm radiator and single glazed old windows. When we reported it, we were told there was a fan heater in the wardrobe - so they expected it! The breakfast was poor - no bacon. No fruit juice or milk left. No cutlery or plates to even have toast on. It was definitely like student accommodation.
