Lovely place another great visit good location perfect cosy room would recommend to people breakfast was pre ordered perfect hot and tasty the bnb is located in a lovely quiet place but close to all attractions and town centre will definitely be back

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kingsmere Guest House. Bed was comfortable, room clean and a lovely breakfast. On arrival we were told we had been upgraded to a room with an en-suite, although I hadn't been aware that I had booked anything other so apparently a private bathroom is not en-suite - you live and learn. The parking is a bit hit and miss although free. We really enjoyed chatting to the hosts at breakfast and their charming grand daughter. TV was quite small but worked fine. Minor things - bathroom door needs a lock as it actually blows open when you are in there! The guest house is conveniently located near loads of eating places - bit spoilt for choice really. Overall vary satisfied and if we need accommodation in South Shields again I wouldn't hesitate.

The best guest house I have stayed in. I had been looking around for accommodation in the South Shields area and came across this guest house on the reviews. Torn between 3 places to stay. I was impressed by the location, photos and previous reviews. Contacting the Kingmere direct, I got a good deal with breakfast included. On arrival, being the next road up from the hussle, free parking was easy to find on the road, something that I really look for as I wouldn't want to fight for a space in the busier areas. Across the road and through the park to the beach, no more than 5 minutes walk. Check in was easy and I was welcomed by the owners. I was lucky to get Room 4, a generous family room. The double bed and bedding were very luxurious. Amble tea/coffee making facilities and a mini fridge. The dressing gowns were a real plus. There was a large ensuite shower room and fluffy bath sheets, which were nice. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice including Eggs Benedict, a Full English and vegetarian options. It filled me up for the today ahead. I would recommend The Kingsmere to anyone and plan to stay next time im in the area.

My first impression of the Kingsmere Guest House in South Shields were excellent, however, there were some high points yet equally some low aspects of the stay. The exterior of the property was welcoming and the location was convenient for the beach, pleasure resort and the town centre with public transport links from the interchange a fifteen-minute walk away. Check-in was pleasant enough located in the first-floor resident's bar area although I had the distinct impression that I was not a priority and that the hosts had more pressing engagements to attend to. I did not book breakfast online due to not being aware of service times, yet it was obviously not possible to book and pay for breakfast on arrival which was disappointing. Even so, I was politely shown to room one, an ensuite single, which was presented very well with all the amenities you could require for your stay including iron and board together with a professional hairdryer. The ensuite bathroom was particularly wonderful, with a powerful double head shower and some lovely fluffy towels. The downside to the room included not having an outlook through the window which had obscure glass and the television was missing all of the BBC channels. A great value-for-money place to stay in South Shields, highly recommended.

We stayed in Room 2 for one night. It was a cosy, clean and charming room. The room is en suite with a small shower room, the shower itself isn’t overly powerful, but it was adequate and toiletries are provided. The host as added bathrobes and slippers for use also. The breakfast the next morning was delicious! The menu covers all tastes, and you can tailor make your breakfast by choosing only the things you like much more sensible). My husband had the full English, and I had Eggs Benedict, both were freshly made and piping hot. This Guesthouse I found to be great value for money, in an excellent location in South Shields, we would definitely stay again.
