Visited 6th Aug.. room was ready but housekeeping was still on at 6pm that evening..rooms are antiquated and in need of upgrade...beds comfy with nice linen..lovely fluffy towels..housekeeping fine for a worn out room.£259 bed and breakfast..breakfast was nice but the availability on continental was sparse and poor.. staff were nice. Location good. Over priced hotel..I won't return...

Stayed here for a night with my partner. Hotel is due to have a refurb soon and the staff are upfront with this and we know we are in St Andrews so we were surprised with the reasonable price compared to the other bigger venues The staff make the place, lovely welcome from reception with an offer to help with luggage and food in the bar was delicious along with great service. Looking forward to returning when it is all done up.

The location can’t be beat, you are steps from the old course and a short walk to restaurants and shops. The people are kind and helpful. That said, it’s very old and in need of renovation. The interior is quite dated and very well used. If this doesn’t bother you, go ahead and book it. If you’re looking for a high-end experience, look elsewhere.

We stayed at the hotel last week and had the most amazing experience. We love visiting St Andrews so were really pleased to hear that the Scores Hotel has reopened. The staff were amazing, very friendly and the service and food served was fantastic and delicious. The Hotel Manager couldn't have been more helpful during our stay. The rooms were super clean which is really important especially post Covid. We are looking forward to returning in the New Year.

Quite a fantastic hotel, stayed for a few nights at the start of September whist traveling around Scotland. Staff were 10/10 especially Matthew massive help with helping me with my bags to the room on the 3rd floor, food was amazing, rooms and view were fantastic, nice comfy bed and a very spacious room. Was told is due a refurbishment with in the coming months will 1000% be back asap.

I feel sad writing this as the scores is a big old hotel but it was appalling. The room cost £240 a night and honestly £50 would have been too much.the staff and cleaners were a credit but fighting a losing battle. The room was tiny and looked like it has not been updated since the 1980’s paint peeling, holes in the walls like there had been a fist fight .the tv did not work the double bed was not much bigger than a single the bath surround was rotting ,the light were flickering in the lift like a horror movie. Pictures from a charity shop adorned the walls. All this for £240 a night . I feel sorry for the staff who were clearly trying in truth the place wants condemning. We have been to St. Andrews many times but never will we go to this hotel again. We never complained as when we tried to check out we could not find a single member of staff

The room was not as advertised, we booked a King Double and got a twin.when we complained the receptionist lied and told me the room was two doubles like all the other rooms I couldnt get hold of reception so i emailed the reception and got a reply after we had left. The room was very dated, toilet roll holder broken and missing, hole in settee, the cleaner had left dirty cleaning equipment in the bathroom, the toilet seat didnt match the bathroom The room was very dated and requires a full refurbishment. The receptionist was never on duty and a ring of the bell brought nobody maybe they were avoiding me due to my complaint Breakfast, again we had to wait till an unkempt individual who looked like he had been dragged off the street came and offered us a table, no warm welcome and the food was less than what you would expect from an hotel of this standard On check out nobody at reception again we left our key and went. Only stop here if you are desperate

I can assure you the room you had been allocated is in fact our largest room with two double beds in the room, most certainly not a twin room, it was a Medium Double Sea View Room. Our reception is manned between the hours of 8-6 so im surprised to hear after several attempts no one was available to accommodate you. We have great feedback in regards to our breakfast and service but I will pass on your regards management and to each area of service including housekeeping and maintenance to ensure these problems don't arise again. Stopped for 2 nights , Yes it is getting a refurbishment in October but we had a nice sea view room and the staff were so friendly, especially the young lady on reception, it is a one minute walk to the first tee on the old course , you can have some great walks around the course and also the beach is fantastic. ( chariots of fire 🔥) was filmed on it . Pity I was paying nearly £7 a pint in the local pubs/ restaurants.

Very disappointed with this very run down hotel. The price above my budget and never ever stayed in a hotel this run down and such poor service. It is very apparent there is not enough staff. We waited 50 mins for our breakfast that was after searching for a member of staff for at least 10 to 15 mins to take our order. We arrived at the hotel to be told our room was not ready at 3pm could we come back. Lots of people complaining at reception as lots of rooms not ready. We got to the room eventually to find it in a very poor state. A lick of paint would have made all the difference. We had teabags but no kettle no cups. Not even a glass in the bathroom. No air condition in this heat. Promised a fan that never arrived. No gift of gin which was promised in the price. Tried to report all above to reception many times but nobody ever there. No phone in room to call reception.

The hotel just opened for a short summer season. Casual food, young team and a fun concept. Giuseppe, the manager, look after us very well. Very happy to see The Scores back in action in time for The Open.

Front reception was welcoming and the hotel is quaint and in a great location. We were there two nights, The issues: We wish we were warned that our hotel room was directly over the kitchen, it was so loud the screeching and thumping that It woke us and I could not get back to sleep, I was feeling under the weather and I needed rest. After complaining they changed our room to the lower level, but problems, heat did not work and early in the morning people were shouting in the street, and I could hear some of the staff having loud conversation. The breakfast was okay, off the menu and portions were on the smaller side. And need to mention that the pub downstair was virtually empty we stopped for a drink but were ignored by the girl behind the bar. Needless to say I was happy when it was time for us to check out.

Popped into the bar for a few drinks, lovely location and lots of potential but service was poor, drinks choices limited and then you get the luxury of paying a service charge of 12.5% on every round, making two drinks over £20. Disappointing response from the bar staff when this was mentioned, very dismissive and stand off-ish. More than happy to pay the service charge when feel it’s worth while, but not on a round of drinks in an empty bar. Stayed at the Rusacks hotel for the duration of our stay and the drinks were cheaper in the bar looking over the 18th hole.

The Scores is literally 2 minutes from the famous gold course, if that is your thing, and faces out to the beach. Nothing in St Andrews is a very far walk away, but the hotel is in a great location. There’s a pub in the ground floor so you do not even have to step outside if the weather is too dreich. Large, high ceiling rooms with the usual facilities and some rather alarming portraits of famous Golfers. Lovely, generous cooked breakfast offers alternatives like avocado toast to the standard fried breakfast. Pleasant staff.

Wonderful Scottish style hotel with upgraded modern bathroom. Amazing location, with outstanding service. Staff is well trained and incredibly helpful. The manager (Chris) was always around and offering to help with any needs. Comfortable beds & pillows, great shower with oversized soft towels. and great service…..all the important things I look for in a hotel!

Well what can I say... there are no words.. Hope the management team read this and don't come back with excuses.. this place should be shut down until it gets a refurb...can I ask how this hotel can charge £240 per nite and £20 per person for breakfast... photos will have a lot of expansion to do.. we booked sea view rooms with double beds.. get a room. With 2 single beds then a room with 2 single beds pushed together. Stickers all over walls to hide the marks on walls. Our room had so much dust god knows when it was cleaned. We waited 1hr on breakfast poor girl o. Her own my husband helped her clean the table...had to ask for fresh orange apple juice and bread to toast the loaf was straight out the freezer... disgusting. Trading standards and environmental heath need ti be brought into this hotel. Must say the poor guests who stayed when the dunhill wad on embarrassing and disgusting springs to mind.
