Overall satisfied. The location is great, close to the university and local restaurants. The only downside is parking. Pet fee is relatively high

The property was woefully understaffed, but the staff that were there were very helpful and friendly. I couldn't check in early although I was told otherwise when I made the reservation. Reservation experience with ******* was unacceptable because I could not talk to a live person to straighten the problem out. As a result I was over charged on my final bill. No linen in the room for the pull out sofa. Nice hotel, poor operation. Would not stay there again unless I needed to be close to the Penn State campus. Will cancel my

Very inconvenient parking. Have you go up a hill from parking garage and around the corner with all luggage to be able to get to lobby There were no sheets or blankets for the pull out bed. We called the front desk (which we had to call a couple of times to even get them to answer the phone) and we were told we had to go down and get them ourselves. They wouldn’t bring them up No one explained how to use the electricity since they have something way different than what people used The ac in the room turned off and we spent over 30 mins trying to figure it out. We finally tried calling the front desk again (which we tried calling multiple times with no answer). On the 3rd call from the phone in the room, I decided to also call on my cell to the main number for the hotel (which still didn’t answer the hotel room phone) BUT he did answer the cell phone within a couple of rings. I made a comment about them not answering the hotel room phone but that of course they answer the cell phone call. Guy didn’t seem phased. Same guy we had upon check in. He tells us that the AC in the bedroom is controlled by the front desk and they would have to turn it on and set it. (We had a bedroom suite, and yet, there were 2 thermostats. One in living room that we could control. And one in bedroom we couldn’t?!?! What happens when we get hot or cold in middle of night and want to change it? We would have to deal with calling a very unhelpful employee? Overall, none of us were happy

We had a lot of trouble finding the place. There was not 1 sign that indicated that the building was a Hilton. There was no information in the room about the hotel. There was never anyone at the desk when we needed help. Also, we had so much trouble with the parking situation. The garage was unaware that we were staying at the Hilton and I sure hope we didn't pay more than we should have! Overall, we did like the room, but we were unimpressed with the service and lack of information about the place!

Checked in at 8:30 pm after 4 hour drive and asked how late restaurant was open. Was told restaurant until 10 and bar until 11. Went with family to eat and as we are eating the bill is brought to us and we were told they are closing at 9:30 and the staff started her side work and put all the bottles of alcohol away. Went to get coffee in the lobby in the morning and the coffee was empty, had to ask twice for it to be refilled. The room was very nice except there was garbage left over from the previous person, dirty dishes in dishwasher and the inside of the stove was disgustingly dirty. Not what we expected and disappointed. Called the front desk to discuss with the manager and was told by Noah that Emily would be calling me back. 6 hours later and still no call returned. Called back and was told she is very busy. We have stayed at many hotels in State College and this was our first disappointment.

The Scholar is our favorite hotel in town. The property is immaculate and every member of the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms with the kitchens and kitchenettes are amazing and make traveling so much easier. We can’t wait to go back.
