I travel a lot, and seek out higher end hotels. This hotel was one that had some very good things and some very bad as well. Pros: The facility is very well done and maintained. With two exceptions, the staff was very well trained and nice. The appointments were great, sheets were clearly superior. The included buffet breakfast is very nice. The price is in line with the above…but: Cons: And these were so bad, it almost overrode the positive. We had to eat dinner there three times. Two of those were very bad, mostly attributed to the kitchen. The menus were very interesting, however getting fresh hot food delivered in a timely manner did not happen. The Workout room is pathetic for this level of hotel. Stuck in a corner with construction dust and very poorly equipped in this market. I will return, but plan meals out.

We stayed here while helping our relative move to Stillwater to go to OSU. We had looked at reviews of some other places and chose to stay at the Atherton because it had a lack of negative reviews. We were greeted warmly at the front desk upon arrival and our room was lovely and clean. All of the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was well-appointed and the shower under the dormer was cool. The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast had the best full size thick cut bacon, among other items. I was impressed.

A very pleasant stay in a clean, spacious room with comfortable beds. Nice OSU touches throughout the hotel. The orange mist bath products were pleasantly scented but not overwhelming. Really enjoyed being able to stay on the beautiful OSU campus. The breakfast was a step above most hotel breakfast.

Just love the Atherton every time I come to wonderful Stillwater OK. Their attention to detail is wonderful and staff so friendly and 15 minute walk to Downtown. My favorite rooms are ones with view of gorgeous gardens out back. And of course love the touch of orange!

Wonderful stay at the Atherton. Beautifully appointed space full of all the amenities I could possibly need. The breakfast was delightful and a nice break from the grab and go styles I’ve grown accustomed to with my children. Will definitely stay again!

One of my favorite hotels ever. Even if you aren't staying in Stillwater for OSU, stay here. Great great service, wonderful decorating , and a fabulously comfortable room. Best breakfast buffet I have had anywhere. Lovely common areas to sit in and have a drink or relax. LOVE this place. ONLY suggestion to the Atherton: when making reservations send a MAP. WE had a time finding where to enter! But worth it once we got there!
