噴泉點度假村(Fountain Point)

The Fountain Point Resort was once a bustling place. I have stayed here 3 times. It is sad to see it's decline. The staff us still good, the location good, things are clean...it is just that there are no extras. Back in the day, they had live music throughout the season and some form of breakfast....now they have nothing. Coffee via Keurig only. They do have paddle boards etc for you to use, which is great but I hate to see the property just "sit there" They have all the equipment to serve breakfast but don't. Even the museum in site is closed up. So sad...

I'm not sure where to start. The location on the lake is great! Close to all of the wineries. That's pretty much the only upsides. Yes, it's old and historic. But it's mainly just old. it really needs a lot of work. It's listed as a B&B but there is no food on site. There was no breakfast. There was no ice. There was no vending area. There was no A/C on a west facing room. The king size bed was two tired twin beds pushed together. Wore socks to the bathroom and back once, destroyed the socks on the dirty carpets. There as a fan in the room. Only one of the two lamps worked. Dead incandescent light bulb. About 2 am the temps in the room became tolerable using the fan. Got hot and wanted some cold water. Had to go out to look for ice. Almost a mission impossible. Just a few miles away is the nearest town of Lake Leelanau. Several wineries. A distillery, a small bar, a hot dog shop, an upscale Italian restaurant and a small market. That's pretty much it. Some businesses aren't even open during all weekdays and close very early. Even the market was closed by 8 pm. No gas stations, no convenience stores. The only thing we found open on a Tuesday after 8 pm was the high end Italian restaurant and the bar. The Italian restaurant was completely full and backed up. Not even taking reservations. We did manage to find ice at hot dog shop just before they closed. Also a take out pizza from the high end place that was very good. But that took 1.5 hours. 14 inch pizza, $25.00. Nearby town of Sutton Bay is more of a tourist trap town with the typical stores. But few decent restaurants and again, never saw a gas station. Actually never saw a gas station north of Traverse City. I'm sure there has to be one up there somewhere. They just weren't easy to find. While in Sutton Bay we at at V.I. Grill. It was busy, but no waiting, very good service and the food was also very good. Cost was on par with the dining experience. Overall we spent a lot of money and didn't have a very nice time. But the wine was good!

The staff were great and accommodated to our needs, the property was historic indeed and offered a trip back in time. The surrounding lake area was a bonus, what caught us by surprise is the public bathrooms, personally I am not used to it and wish I knew that rooms (not suites) did not have private bathrooms.

A gem of a resort. Very laidback and peaceful, extremely friendly staff. This historic hotel is surrounded by small cottages and beautifully situated on Lake leelanau. The resort is a historic landmark so expect the basics. So different from any ordinary modern hotel. Bathrooms are in a separate area on the floor and there is no AC or TV in the room. No breakfast or a restaurant but free coffee and a game-room, beech and a beautiful porch overlooking the lake.

It’s such a cool historic place, however in serious need of updating, a coat of paint everywhere, better linens. We had terrible bugs in our room as the housekeepers left a window cracked…it was a nightmare…couldn’t use the bathroom all night until bugs were cleaned up. Very disappointing.

We felt like we had gone back to a slower, more relaxing period in our country without all the hustle of today. The fact that we had room 1 and cabin 1 put us almost literally on the water, which was peaceful and cozy.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay! Best part of the stay was no tv.

Quiet older lodge hotel on Lake Leelanau. Minimal amenities.
