A peaceful and beautiful resort. You can walk down to the Coles Bay and have a walk on the beach. Receptionist Louis was very helpful And the lady from cleaning was very polite and smiling. Try also the restaurant located behind the reception, Lure. Excellent dining experience.

Every place we stayed in Tasmania during our 2 week trip was top-notch, and Edge of the Bay was no exception. This was at the tail end of our trip and we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. Our room was roomy and well-furnished with the most amazing view across Coles Bay. Only 5 minutes from Coles Bay township, the resort is a great base to explore Freycinet NP. In addition to a cruise to Wineglass Bay, we also managed to visit Cape Tourville Lighthouse and walk down to Sleepy Bay during our 2 night stay. The bird life is superb at the resort and the restaurant was impressive. This was a great spot to conclude our trip around Tassie.

Just WOW… a jewel in Coles Bay. The little cabins are fantastic. Everything you need for a relaxing quiet getaway WITH an outstanding restuarant.. glorious 2 days and the food - exceptional. Thankyou for a truly marvelous stay. Nick, the owner was wonderful and did all he could to make your stay perfect 👌🏽

While I cannot comment on the resort itself, I do want to commend management for its customer service. We had reservations for a two night stay and had prepaid for the entire cost of the stay. Unfortunately extenuating circumstances prevented us from making our entire trip to Australia. Management was extremely understanding and refunded the entire amount of our prepay. I was very worried about losing this large amount of money and do appreciate their compassion and understanding. We hope to stay at the resort once we are able to reschedule this trip.

What wonderful views of the Freycinet from this accommodation! Quiet location, 3 km from Coles Bay township. On-site independently run restaurant is first class. Wallabies a-bound (so to speak). Our 2-bedroom cabin was comfortable enough (not too sure in winter though) if a little dated for the money we paid. Some more lighting is needed to help with the longish walk to reception and the restaurant.

My husband and l booked a two week trip to Tasmania in November 2022 which we needed to rebook due to unforeseen family circumstances. We rebooked for March/April 2023. Our accommodation at Macq 1 Hobart, Pumphouse at Lake St Clair and Cradle Mountain Lodge could not have been more understanding and helpful with our change of dates with no additional charge for change of booking. This was certainly not the case with Edge of the Bay. We were charged an additional 50% of our booking (almost $600) due to their policy of cancellation within 42 days. We argued we did not cancel but rebooked. Nick Johnston (manager) was the rudest dismissive man l have met. After trying to argue our point he told us he was not here for guests. We were eventually told to leave Edge of Bay and find other accommodation on our last night of what was a fabulous holiday. Otherwise Edge of Bay looks tired. Room ok. Bed comfortable. Shower poor pressure. Needed to boil water to drink due to tannins and no bottled water provided. Intermittent wifi. Reasonable distance from town. Great views. Due to our unpleasant experience with manager l would never recommend Edge of Bay.

This is a review of the "secluded 2 bedroom cottage". I suspect the modern units (single bed?) would be quite different from our dated and somewhat uncomfortable "cottage". The cottage did have the facilities listed, by and large, although the listing stated tumble dryer in the unit, there was none. The guest laundry apparently had one but it was miles away and you had to pay to use it. Not what we signed up for. And the washer was old and we didn't trust our clothes in it, especially as there was a warning not to wash whites due to the tannin-coloured water. The kitchen had fittings and equipment which looked to be about 35 years old. It was all there but very rustic. Didn't appreciate having to boil drinking water so went out and bought bottles of water. Bathroom was a galley setup with shower/washing machine and tub etc all in a passage area. Shower curtain surrounded one in a clammy close embrace, no mixer tap- all just rather 1980s. There was wifi but it was so weak as to be useless much of the time. We had to switch to mobile data for any essential internet. The second bedroom was bare and only suitable for kids. Reception not very friendly. On the plus side, the main bed was comfortable and the view of the sea was great and the heat pump worked well and there was also a fan heater. Enjoyed the tame wallabies loping about. We thought we significantly overpaid for this rather rustic bach. We weren't particularly comfortable there and left a day early.

The unit was wonderfully positioned with water views through a wall of glass then onto the private balcony overlooking native vegetation down to the water's edge. The sunrise was spectacular through this window, and the sunset was similarly beautiful through the restaurant's windows. Our meal at Lure Wine Bar & Restaurant was really memorable, tasty, perfectly cooked, vegetables hot and delicious. Staff service was excellent, local wines complimented the meal.
