Maison d'hôte d'un charme fou ! Joyau architectural du XIXe restauré avec un beaucoup de goût. Extrêmement bien placé. Confort absolu (excellente literie, draps d'une douceur exquise, honesty bar à disposition, terrasse, chaises longues, vue incroyable...). 4 chambres seulement (donc calme et cosy!). Accueil particulièrement bienveillant. Dimitri, architecte qui a conçu la rénovation et l'aménagement du lieu (qui habite de l'autre côté du port) très cultivé, n'est pas avare de bons conseils et sait être aidant dans l'organisation du séjour. Grace à lui nous avons visité un lieu retiré et rencontré une très belle personne... totalement magique !! Il est très disponible en cas de besoin tout le long du séjour. En bref : cette adresse est un véritable coup de foudre, tant du point de vue de l'hôtellerie que de la qualité du contact humain.

This hotel combined with the island of Symi were the highlight of our 6 week holiday. We stayed 3 nights but could have easily been 5 or even a couple of weeks! Even though Symi does get day trippers from the island of Rhodes its not in the number that could potentially overrun the place. Symi is far quieter than Rhodes. The 1900 Hotel is just beautiful. The Manager was very accommodating and helpful when asked. The room was large and very tastefully painted and decorated. The bathroom was fabulous. We stayed in the upstairs blue room which is just across from the upstairs terrace. Although the area could have been better used if there had been a couple of market umbrellas we enjoyed our time in the afternoons here. It is a great place to take in the views of the colourful harbour. Rightfully voted one of the prettiest harbours in the world. There were a couple of dead plants that should be removed but they didn't negatively impact our overall experience. This space could be stunning with a few well placed large potted plants (it would cool the space), some festoon lighting above and a couple of small tables. We would have loved to enjoy the odd Charcuterie board up here with a beer or Gin or 6! Lovely snacks are left each day in the downstairs drawing room. This space also has tea and coffee making facilities. A little bar area here may have given more chance of interacting with other guests as everyone came and went each afternoon. One of the ferries dock right outside.

Situated on Symi harbour the 1900 hotel is a gem. A four bedroom boutique hotel with subdued hues of the past, gentle and restful to the eye. Dimitris the owner is a class act, and arranged a mattress topper for us as the bed was a little hard for our liking. Roomy bathroom with excellent shower pressure and nice complimentary beauty products. Lighting throughout is a little dim (in tune with the ambiance of the place) a proper bedside reading light would be a bonus. Good wifi. Expect a little early morning noise from the port, although the windows are double glazed. Nice clothing cupboard in the bathroom with plenty of drawers. Would definitely recommend.

If it were not for the pretentious pricing of this very pleasant but undistinguished renovated four room house that calls itself a hotel I would give a five star rating, however, with it's inflated pricing, 1900 needs to deliver more. The room we had, 1901, was large and comfortable, the best part being the balcony overlooking the very busy port with its mesmerizing series of yachts coming and going all day and night. The nicely restored ceilings and large bathroom add to the charm. Unfortunately the lighting is not great. The owner Dimitris turns on the charm and gives suggestions for dining, makes reservations, suggests different beaches, performs concierge duties etc. He is not on site most of the day. The problem is one cannot run a hotel remotely and by Whatsapp. The morning biscuits and fruit are inconsistent, replenished at different times every day ( generally late morning). There is no pre arrival e mail welcoming guests or enquiring about their arrival details. For the high season pricing, there should be a bottle of wine or welcome basket in the room, turn down service at night, amenities one associates with five star hotels. There is a cute branded tote bag. Yes this is a laid back island, relaxed vibe etc, but the room prices are consistent with higher aspirations and do not deliver.

1900 is stunning. We were contacted about arrival details and met at the ferry, where our luggage was taken to our room. The hotel is beyond stunning. The owner helped us with dinner reservations (even though he was in Athens awaiting a surgery). He helped us throughout stay in Symi and continued to give us great advice as we traveled to Turkey. This is a place not to be missed. It is special and beautiful in more ways than I can express. I can not wait to return.
