Although my plane landed late, it was tricky to get to the area via taxi, but when I arrived late the reception was very helpful and helped me organise my stay. I had a great time there.

Decidimos ir por unos días a la playa con nuestros perrhijos (tres perros pequeños), así que comenzamos la búsqueda de un lugar que nos aceptara con ellos. En Vista Ballena nos dijeron que sí, para lo cual nos indicaron una serie de condiciones que cumplimos escrupulosamente. El personal se mostró muy amable y comprensivo con nuestros perrhijos y con nosotros. Cuando fue necesario incluso pudimos reservar espacios que habíamos identificado como ideales cerca de la piscina y el restaurante para ellos y la buena convivencia con los huéspedes. La experiencia del hotel fue muchísimo mejor de lo que esperábamos y definitivamente iremos de nuevo. En cuanto a otros aspectos del hotel, debo decir que la vista es inigualable, en particular para los atardeceres que son un sueño desde la piscina. La oferta de vinos y licores es muy buena y el restaurante ciertamente cumplió con nuestras expectativas.

Estuvimos dos noches, y en palabras resumidas fue maravilloso ! La atención de la recepcionista siempre amable, los saloneros ni qué decir ! Son muy atentos, educados, uno de ellos en especial siempre tuvo un trato espectacular con mi sobrina de 5 años, no recuerdo sus nombres pero todos ellos siempre tuvieron un servicio cinco estrellas… La comida es espectacularmente rica, el restaurante y la piscina tienen una vista espectacular de Bahía Ballena, desde las habitaciones es igual todas con vista al mar. Las habitaciones son muy cómodas y limpias. Recomendado para quienes tienen vehículo propio ya que está ubicado un poquito largo del centro o de la carretera principal, pero la propiedad es tan hermosa que no quiere uno salir de ahí… Es un hecho que volveré ! Tienen que probar el filet scampi !!!

Wir hatten ein ziemlich einfaches Zimmer, das keinen speziellen Komfort bot. Dafür ist die Lage des Restaurants und des Pools beim Hauptgebäude umso schöner. Die Aussicht des in den Hügeln über Uvita gelegenen Hotels ist sehr schön und der Sonnenuntergang ist herrlich anzusehen. Die Anfahrt zum Hotel ist etwas mühsam, sie führt über eine zum Teil steile und schmale Schotterstrasse, auf der Kreuzen nicht einfach ist. Das Personal ist nett und das Essen im Restaurant haben wir genossen. Das Wifi funktionierte zumindest beim Hauptgebäude sehr gut.

Vue imprenable surtout pour le coucher de soleil. Mais cocktails moyens avec trop de glace et par contre verre de vin blanc trop chaud... Chambre un peu vieillotte, surtout la salle de bain. Pas trop d'insonorisation. Accès un peu difficile et escaliers assez longs pour monter au restaurant et pour monter des valises.

La chambre est banale mais la vue est magnifique sur Mario Ballena. Par contre l’insonorisation est à revoir car nous entendions très bien les voisins. Petit dejeuner correct sans plus. Surtout, si vous arrivez un peu tard, plus de jus de fruits. Le diner est médiocre voire mauvais . Les plus mauvais repas que nous ayons faits au Costa Rica. Évitez les chambres du module 2. Le chemin d’accès par la route est dit. A pied, il faut avoir la forme.

Un servicio 5 estrellas. El hotel tiene una vista espectacular, no dan ganas de salir de ahí. La atención de cada uno de los empleados es 100% calidad, nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Las habitaciones son super cómodas y la comida podemos decir que probamos casi todo el menú y la comida es deliciosa. Muy complacidos de haber seleccionado este hotel. Gracias a todos por hacer de nuestras vacaciones una semana espectacular!

Hotel en plena montaña con una vista al mar que es sorprendente, una piscina deliciosa, su menú de comidas bastante variado, y la comida deliciosa, un precio pues razonable, pero valió la pena por su exquisito sabor! Hay que subir una buena cuesta pero cualquier vehículo lo puede hacer sin problema! Excelente opción en parejas o en grupos familiares!

The view from the pool is amazing! We spent an entire day there. The view from the room patio was also nice. We saw lots of birds every day. Get ready for the stair master to get to and from your room. Our room had a sketchy hole in the ceiling above the shower and we had quite a few bugs in our room, but no big deal when you're in paradise. The bathroom was a lil small and dated, but we hardly spent any time in there. Drinks at the pool were reasonably-priced even thigh they didn't have any prices listed... food was on the more expensive side... so we just drank more. Really enjoyed our stay here overall and it was a great place to unwind before heading back home. I would stay here again!

What a great place! The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The view, bar area, and pool are sublime. This hotel sits on the side of a steep hill with an incredible view of the ocean and Whales Tail. As a result, the drive up can be intimidating but easily managed by taking it slow in first gear. You need to be prepared to walk up stairs to get back and forth from the room and bar/restaurant/pool area. The food and drinks are excellent. The beach and town are a 15 min drive, at most. The rooms are comfortable with well functioning air conditioning. The outside patio/deck provides another magnificent view from the room. We had a wonderful couples massage in the open air yoga space. The bathroom in the room could use some attention, but hardly enough of a concern to dissuade us from returning. We're very happy we stayed here on our trip to Costa Rica. Thank you, Vista Ballena!

This hotel is on a mountainside overlooking the sea. Fantastic views from rooms and restaurant and bar. Lovely swimming pool. Nice public areas. However, the receptionist was a bit dismissive, not friendly. No thank yous. Waiting staff very friendly though. First night meal was absolutely awful. Set menu for our group of 18, probably not the standard menu. The food was cold and very, very salty. However, the breakfasts were good and our second night meal was good. The rooms are tired and not particularly clean. The bathroom needed a good scrub. Bedding clean. Hairdryer in room. Shampoo and conditioner but no shower gel. Internet off and on. No water in room, but water available from bar urn. The swimming pool was great as the weather was very hot. You cannot walk to anywhere from this hotel. it's in the middle of nowhere up a very steep and narrow drive, which is at least one mile long. Not good for a long stay, but OK for 2 nights.

Rooms are down several steep staircases from the tiny common area perched atop the hill. Aversive muzak played nonstop in the bar/restaurant area which permeated the whole place. Not a peaceful costa rican environment.
