Gully Ghar

Habitación, ubicación (a 3 minutos a pie de Assi ghat) y Saurabh el dueño y el personal super atentos, siempre dispuestos a ayudar en todo. Desayuno muy correcto y rico. Pasamos unos dias muy divertidos y relajados en Varanasi. Muchas gracias por vuestra amabilidad.

Dalla via dove ci ha dovuto lasciare il taxi dovete prendere una via strettissima all'interno delle abitazioni locali, con tanto di acqua, dei rifiuti e cani per strada, che la prima volta ci ha fatto paura. Hotel piccolo, noi abbiamo preso un piccolo appartamento con 2 camere e 2 bagni. Per gli standard indiani era un hotel carino, tuttavia pulito ( a differenza di altri in cui siamo stati) . Bagni estremamente piccoli e semplici, senza nessun kit di benvenuto, privi di bidet, e con la carta igienica data in un mini rotolo, tanto che ne abbiamo dovuto comprare uno. Nessun tipo di riscaldamento, nemmeno le stufette elttriche a pagamento, e fuori di notte c'erano meno di 10 gradi. Buona , per quello che abbiamo visto poi in altri hotel, la colazione servita sul terrazzo all'ultimo piano, comprendente del riso, frittata, toast con burro e miele, oppure del pane locale: tuttavia era servita solo all'esterno e con 7-8 gradi alla mattina non era il massimo mangiare al freddo. Proprietario gentile, con tanto di aiuto per cambiare i soldi. Tuttavia ci ha fornito una guida locale, Karan, che ci ha presentato come persona che conosceva bene (su mia eplicita domanda) che per un'ora alla sera e l'intera giornata del giorno successivo ci ha chiesto € 205, compreso la barca in condivisione con una coppia slovena che non costa più di 15 € e tuk tuk per andare a visitare un complesso alla periferia di Varanasi. Un vero furto, almeno il doppio di quello dovuto, tuttavia costretto a pagare per non avere problemi, e soprattutto una persona impreparata visto che quanto dettoci sulle informazioni generali è stato smentito da tutte le altre guide successive e dalle ricerche fatte da noi su internet. Luogo molto vicino ad Assi Ghat, meno di 5 minuti a piedi, ma con solo 2 ristorantini decenti nelle vicinanze , uno solo vegetariano e l'altro anche con carne di pollo.

Lovely place, very nice and attentive owner l. It’s small place but with big heart. Breakfast was all quite good ( egg, porridge, yogurt, chai) many more and get to enjoy on the rooftop. It’s located in small alley so not so noisy, easy to find in good map..

This is neat and clean boutique homestay in varanasi near to famous AssiGhat though bit off the main road.The behaviour of staff and owner and service is amazing.We checked in late night with 2 year old child but they guided us well to reach the property and arranged boiled milk and bananas and Noodles at late hours of night.Special thanks to Pandey ji(Sweet old ***). Breakfast was delicious and well served .You won't get buffet but they will serve as you will order.A nice place for short stay at varanasi.

The place is nice and clean at Assi ghat, the host Saurabh is providing all the facilities including travel and tour inside and outside the city which is quite relaxing. They have beautiful rooftop place hangout where you can meet ppl from different part of the world.

Best stay in India so far! owners, are the best. They helped with everything we needed, and made our stay great fun. Location is great 2 min walking from the Ghats they were very friendly and helpful they help us with Boat trips, currency exchange and transport all on offer and no trouble to organise. breakfast were outstanding and they Surve on the roof top each morning.. so must try this place..

First trip to Kashi was amazing and awakening, the trip felt even more comfortable staying at Gullyghar Guest House. I m overwhelmed by the friendly coutersy of Saurabh and his Team. It was like staying with family. Neat and affordable rooms. Clean beds and room service and an always smiling and assisting saurabh. An easy chilled out PG with equally chilled out surroundings. Best part about the PG is that it is just over 300mtrs from Assi Ghat, and every other eateries and Chai corners and very nice cafes. Had a great vacation staying at your place brother. Best was the terrace and the evening lights. Enjoyed each and every bit of the stay here. And definitely I will come back when ever I come back to varanasi.. thank you for everything..

Recently had our stay at Gullyghar guest house for our Varanasi trip. It was Very Comfortable staying there.. Mr Saurabh was very helpful in guiding us to the places near by and he was supper supportive. We would recommend this place to stay as it had all facilities nearby, hospital, supermarket, hotels, restaurants, most importantly it is walkable from Assi Ghat which is popular for Subahe Baranas , Ganga Arati that takes place by evening over the ghats. Thanks to Mr saurabh for making our stay comfortable.

This hotel has been portrayed as something it isn't. It is extremely basic, with poor facilities. A family member got ill here. There is no proper place to sit, the AC was not working in one room and it was not clean. There were soiled underpants haning on one of the door handles. There were dirty towels provided. I would definitely not recommend. We had to leave.
