龜屋之家酒店(Casa de Tortuga Guesthouse)

The place is an excellent location within walking distance of our arranged tours. The lady attending it was very nice to us. However, the place could use some updates. It smells like a roach problem, and the kitchen does not have all the condiments, such as salt. The yard and pool area needed tending. Leaves everywhere.

The host was rude and condescending. The informations provided about the property in the website are mostly false. We arrived on the island very early in the morning. We called the property to ask about possible early check-in, nobody answered, we left a message, no one called back - their website states that “ If you need to check in or check out outside of these hours, please contact the hotel in advance to make arrangements.” The website also boasts about 24/7 front desk service (not true), and “…friendly and helpful staff will be waiting for you upon arrival to ensure that you have a hassle-free check-in experience. We offer a 24/7 front desk service, so you can check in at any time that is convenient for you.” Because we thought they had staff 24/7, we proceeded to the property. The courtyard was littered with garbage, the check in area had bugs and mosquitoes and no friendly staff at all! After waiting for a considerable time, we knocked at a door closest to the check in counter. A shirtless, untidy human being showed up and rudely told us that check in’s at 3:00pm. when we asked for possible early check in, he condescendingly replied, “do you want me to drive other guests away to check you in?” We are aware of the 3pm check in policy, and we are fine with coming back later in the day but since their website indicates that early check in can be arranged and 24/7 smooth, efficient, and hassle-free process would be provided, we took the chance.

From toilet not working, to cook top not working to toilet door not closing...it was such a disappointment. On top of that the resort manager was totally unhelpful...her response was 'it should work'. We ended up junking all the groceries and eating out.

The property was had no hot water. The equipment (windmill) on the roof was loud. The wifi did not work or had a very poor signal. The electrical was a series of extension cord and power strips. Overall not the way it is described.

Buena localización, cuarto aceptable..... habilitar área barra sería ideal.....Y que hable un poco español el dueño !! Estuvo bien !!!

Todo estuvo excelente y la ubicación para visitar las playas es la mejor!

Great location to beach and restaurants. Skip is a trip. He was easy knowledgeable and caring for the property.

For the price charged this property does not live up to the expectations. Shower in one of the bathrooms was not working. Bathrooms need renovation.
