索爾巴肯高級度假村(Solbakken Resort)

We stayed up here before. Recently remodeled. Clean very comfortable. Nothing fancy old fashion hotel cabin unit. Comfortable bed. Very basic. (Internet service was out yet had a time to read a good book which was a good thing.) Remind you of fun vacations long ago when you were a kid. Will definitely return.

The place is just what we were looking for. We went there during Fall season. The room has no AC, but since it was cold outside, it was okay. They have utensils ready for use. Parking was very convenient, just outside the door. And you have a view of the Lake Superior which is very nice. I will definitely recommend this place.

A great view from our room of Lake Superior. Nice landscaping. Nice lodge common room. Motel room bath is quite small. The employee who was on duty was not friendly. We were disappointed we could not use kayaks or canoes as advertised. We learned they not been inspected this season, near end of summer season. First place we ever stayed we could not get ice without purchasing a bag yet the room frig had no freezer!

Pet friendly. Kid friendly. Had a short stay. Would definitely go back and stay longer. Very serene! And laid back.

Met lots of folks who were longtime users of Solbakken and loved it. Wish the long-standing shower problem had been fixable during our stay. Otherwise, good choice. Judy S

Solbakken has been a destination cabin for years. The cabins on the shore of Lake Superior are very good, with nice decks facing the big lake. Some minor areas have grown a bit funky and tired and could be updated -- faucets, showers, etc. -- but overall a stay at Solbakken is most worthwhile.
