Like being above a nightclub…. Two nights running I’ve had to go down a midnight and ask for the music to be turned down/off why o why is it still on at that time. Worst nights sleep ever. Food gone downhill since last time I stayed here breakfast was cold poached eggs rock hard. I have also noticed the restaurant is considerably quieter that in the past. Is there a reason for this!! !! Let’s just say I’ve stayed here every year for the last 6 years but this will be the last. Yes it’s a bad review but sleep deprivation does that to you AVOID ROOM 22 AT ALL VISTS BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. Tonight they may be minus a wall speaker if I’m back down home midnight disgusting!!!!

The good; Spa experience was fabulous, trea**ents were so good. All staff really nice and we had plastic glasses for the hot tub. The food was good. The bad; We waited ages for our mains. The room was poor, damp ceiling, hole in the roof, the window was coated in stoor, dust, it was minging and no way 'fresh' air was coming in through that. The extractor fan in the toilet was the loudest thing I have ever heard. No AC in the room so it was far too hot. The bath/shower had alot of mould which you could see was painted over with a grout pen. The toilet had issues, the water never stopped running through it, we told reception, she went to the room while we were at dinner and come back and said "I dont know what I've done but the waters stopped". It came back at 5am... waste of water, so not really inline with there sustainability policy they are trying to enforce. The hairdryer burnt out soon as we turnt it on, just smoke emitting from it. The mattress was far too firm and not comfortable. We honestly couldn't wait to check out, we went walks around the area to stay out the room before breakfast and then left at 9am. Bit of a random one but there was an abandoned car right outside our hotel window, it had flat tyres, mould all over it, the DVLA website said it had been SORN since 2020 so that brought the tone down even more. Conclusion; Goto the Spa but don't pay to stay the night, we had to come home for a nap because it was a poor stay and the room issues kept us awake after the first toilet flush of the morning 5am. The hotel should bring the rooms to the same standard as the spa. Really let's it down. I wouldn't stay here again was worth the £350. Pay a little more and goto somewhere else where you will get a good night's sleep to match the relaxing spa experience. I cant upload the videos I took of the fan etc trip advisor says it exceeds the limits.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Went for an overnight stay yesterday to look at the hotel for a potential wedding venue - let’s just say that’s not happening. Booked the penthouse suite, what looks stunning isn’t behind the scenes. Turned the lights on in the lounge for the lights to non-stop flashing, having epilepsy this was not how I planned to start my trip! Went down to the lounge until someone went up and resolved the issue - no apology. Went back to the room after dinner to enjoy the spa facilities, no sound works in the bathroom. I.E bathroom TV or speaker. Night Porter came up at 1030 couldn’t resolve the issue after an hour. Only to find out at 1AM if you had the lounge TV on the TV in the bathroom didn’t work. Get a call back from one of the managers who attitude was absolutely horrific! “Ive just been up to the room everything seems fine” - well it certainly wasn’t last night. £265 a night is day light robbery when so much is faulty. I look forward to the call from the General Manager tomorrow hoping he is more efficient. Keep your money, don’t waste it.

Me and my partner booked a night away to celebrate a birthday, upon arriving the front desk (think it was James) were very friendly and accommodating as we turned up a bit earlier than the sated check in time. We were allocated room 27, decent size room and very spacious bed, the bathroom was clean and tidy although the toilet flusher seemed to be temperamental. unfortunately there was a massive red/orange stain on the carpet which made the room feel a bit grubby considering we paid £152 for a 1 night stay. The Tv that boasted freeview and smart Tv capability was poor as half of the tv channels didn't have reception and the smart Tv aspect didn't work and the Tv wouldn't connect to any internet, unfortunately it was around 1130pm before we tried the tv so didn't see the point asking to change rooms at this time considering it was a 1 night stay. We used the coast restaurant at the hotel where we asked to sit outside due to nice weather, the barman took our drinks order after allocating us a table and brought the drink in a very timely manor and advised the waitress would come take the food order, unfortunately it would appear we were forgotten about as close to 50 minutes passed before I returned to the bar to place another drinks order and ask when the waitress would come to take the food order. the barman was very apologetic and the waitress came straight out and took our order, the food was prompt and nice so absolutely no complaints there, pricing wasn't to bad for the food but the bar is slightly overpriced with a pint of lager roughly £6/£6.50 and a cocktail around £10. We had breakfast included in the room and with the continental and cooked option we thought we were in for a treat but unfortunately this wasn't the case, possibly due to the time we booked but the continental selection was poor as most plates/bowls were empty as I'm guessing they didn't want to replenish anything before stopping the breakfast service. the cooked breakfast was bland and sp****, I opted for the full cooked breakfast and got 1 fried egg (over cooked and crispy) 1 black pudding (over cooked and brick hard) 1 potato scone (over cooked couldn't even cut it) haggis was bland (crispy on 1 side soft on the underside) small metal ramakin of beans that they normally give you sauce in when ordering dinner, guess its to make it look fancy 2 bacon ( over cooked) the breakfast was meant to come with a pork sausage but it didn't 1 small mushroom cut in half my guess is my breakfast was under a heat lamp for some time while they prepared my partners breakfast as hers all looked fresh. Finally while there we made use of the driving range and spa, the staff in the café were very friendly and helpful and had a lovely selection of cakes, the driving range its self could use a little maintenance just to tidy the place up. The spa was one of the most disappointing parts of our stay and was unfortunately the main reason we booked the Gailes, clean changing rooms with nice

Excellent location for golf. Rooms are spacious. Attentive bar staff. We stayed as a group of twelve for 2 nights and enjoyed dinner at the hotel as well as drinks on the terrace. Would recommend as a. Good base for tge gsiles golfing experience

My partner booked an overnight via a third party website and I booked the dinner reservation via their own website. Firstly, I called to enquire about the spa services and requested to book before we arrived. The receptionist said she would call me back to check. She then called back to say it would incur an additional charge (which is fine and I expected this). I tried to book for the Saturday morning to which the receptionist said you were fully booked. We drove down and then checked in and when we arrived the receptionist asked if we’d like to book any of the leisure services. I explained what I was told on the phone and asked if I could buy swimwear at the reception. The woman said no and that it’s book on arrival. I explained I was told different and I have no swimwear due to this. The woman stated “There’s a Sainsbury’s up the road and a next outlet close by.” No apology for the miscommunication on their end. This was also in the evening so would be difficult time wise to check in, unpack, drive to a retail store and then arrive back in time for our dinner booking as planned. We unpacked in the room. The booking was for a double room. However, it had a king bed and then two random single beds which weren’t even mounted to the wall. Complete eyesore. I believe as we booking via a third party we were given a rubbish room which is the case with most hotels to be fair. However, the view of the car park meant we could not get ready in the room as many people were constantly walking by. I understand not much can be done but just another thing to add which made the stat even worse. We then went to our dinner reservation. I had stated on the notes that it was a 10 year anniversary and any special touches would be appreciated. None. The service was shockingly slow, the cocktails were extremely bland. Some waiting staff were lovely and then some were the complete opposite. We then went to pay for the meal up at the bar as we sat for almost fifteen minutes with no service. We had asked for more drinks before this and one of the male employees (suspected manager) stated “can you wait a minute until I get these other drinks”. I was charged for the wrong table. £151. The member of staff (assuming it was a manager as he was wearing a blue shirt), did not even apologise. It took so long and he seemed stressed so I asked if it would be easier if I came back and he stated no and just huffed. I understand it’s stressful as he did say they could not use the till until the issue was fixed but this was not our fault as they didn’t even confirm our dinner order with us. We then went back to the room (room 17) and did not sleep all night as the room directly above us were playing loud music and jumping about. As part of our booking we had free breakfast so the next day we went to the restaurant again. Service was awful-again! Two couples who arrived after us were offered drinks and we were still waiting. You are always made to feel so friendly when visiting the restaurant. Must mention Lise, Louise, Emily and Claire on this visit. They are all great ambassadors for the company. So friendly and attentive during our visit. Great menu which caters for all tastes. A**osphere is good too. A must visit place when in the area. Will be back for sure.

Visited the coast restaurant at the gales Irvine with my mum , they had a funeral on and service was initially a bit slow but we were getting a catch up so didn’t bother to much, after our order was taken we both ordered prawn cocktails for starters a fish main and a steak pie , the prawn cocktail was at our table within 2 mins which we laughed about as it had taken half hour to get served and the starters were so fast (on hindsight the speed would suggest that this was pre-made) we ate our starters and mains and finished up and I gave the waitress a £5 tip as she was lovely and having had an overall nice experience. We then carried on with our day going to do some shopping , we had been to one shop when we both felt ill to the stomach , we have to leave a store to both head to my house for the toilet where we had extremely upset stomachs we do not live together and the only thing we have ate that was the same that day was the prawn cocktail. I called the restaurant to inform them at the time so they could remove this item from the menu asap, I was getting put direct through to gailes (initial call takes you to a call board for all reservations) however I could not stay on the phone long enough as I was feeling ill again! We have since had calls back and forth basically saying that that’s not the case at all we have been asked about medications or conditions we have (we both have none) and made to feel like it’s been a made up lie. I genuinely called the restaurant to make sure no one else got ill. It’s poor service and still do not feel 100% 4 days later I will never visit again! PLEASE IF YOU DO GO DONT HAVE THE PRAWNS!

Clean Room, Great Food, Staff were fantastic. We were staying for a family funeral so we didn't get much time to explore the area. Could not fault the hotel at all.
