My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ballast very much. It is located within walking distance of many things to do, see, and eat. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and that was comforting. The bathroom, while clean, has a few unique characteristics. The sink has very little room between the faucet and sink bottom. The commode is extremely low to the ground. We found it quite odd. We would stay again requesting a water view room.

We always love staying there. Ask for a river front room.

The hotel was located pretty close to everything which was nice. When we went in the room it smelt odd and the AC was not working.

It was a fun girls overnight trip. The hotel was beautiful. Our room was spacious with a gorgeous river front view. We could see the USS North Carolina Battleship from our room. The bar was wonderful and the staff made the best drinks. The breakfast buffet was so delicious. We would definitely stay again.

The trip was great - after a horrible hotel experience elsewhere, I booked this one instead and had a great hotel experience. The rooms were spacious, they were clean clean, it had great views and comfortable beds. The staff was extremely friendly - I will stay here again!

Absolutely love the hotel it was great. My only criticism is the same for any hotel that charges you money to park - it’s ridiculous. Most travelers in the south have their cars on vacation, and they shouldn’t be made to pay for parking unless they want to valet.

The hotel needs improvements. We had mold in our room in several places in the bathroom. There was a water leak outside of our room the entire time we were there. The third floor where they put us smelled like a locker room likely due to the gym there. The hotel needs cleaned. The property was also unkept. I’ve never stayed at a Hilton with this kind of experience. We left a day early. No offer of a refund for checking out early. But we couldn’t breath with the mold. I would suggest the manager take control of the maintenance issues. I’d never suggest this hotel. Wilmington was nice, just a poor hotel experience for us.

Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Valet parking was nice. Not used to having to pay for parking when one rents a hotel room, so may as well pay the extra for valet parking. No microwave or refridgerator in room. There is a coffee maker. Breakfast is not offered. But there is a breakfast bar to order from and a snack shop. The outdoor pool is really nice. The shuttle to and from airport is limited. Small trash can in room. With 4 people, need a bigger trash can. Only 3 sets of towels for 4 people. There is no information sheet in room, so figuring things out was a little challenging. It still was nice. A little pricey for what you get.

HVAC didn’t work. Maintenance came and said he fixed it, but then room reached 78 degrees and AC would not work. Shower handle came off during use. Also reported to maintenance. Great location, great staff.
