Das reizende Anwesen direkt am Strand zwischen alten Bäumen fällt gleich auf. Mit viel Liebe eingerichtetes historisches Haus, ein Ort zum Träumen und verweilen. Das Restaurant ist in Ordnung, aber kein Highlight. Die Bar bietet einige gute Biere und andere Getränke. Die Zimmer sind schön altenglisch eingerichtet, ruhig und gräumig. Empfehlenswert @

Phoned ahead to try and book a table for a family of 5 adults and 2 toddlers and that's where the great service began - they were able to accommodate us at very short notice and arranged our table with a breath-taking sea view. Service throughout our meal was faultless and we were made to feel incredibly welcome (this can be a rare occurance when dining with two noisy and, sometimes messy, toddlers!) Food was good quality, with generous portions. A special mention goes to Leanne who made our experience so great. She made us feel welcome and nothing was too much bother. She showed good knowledge of the menu and was able to make recommendations which were top notch! She even encouraged us to explore the building after our meal, to take in the beautiful view from the sun room upstairs. Will definitely be visiting again!

AWFUL! Absolutely terrible service and that was consistent for 3 days. Staff are pleasant but let down by meals coming out of the kitchen very slowly, waiting for 1 bar staff to serve a queue and hit or miss housekeeping. Food quality was really bad. Hotel location is great for beach. Hotel rooms are quirky and well presented but surface clean. I imagine rooms will be roasting in the summer as most windows painted shut or very restricted opening. Wouldn't recommend or promote hotel to anyone else.

An amazing building and setting let down by poor customer service and mediocre food. We were ignored by bar staff when we arrived, witnessed staff handle problems at other tables badly ( failure to deliver all main courses at the same time). When paying the bill no one asked how our experience / meal had been - given we stayed only 45 minutes any other restaurant would have been concerned. The food didn't make up for the service. The only upside was the amazing Arts and Crafts building which is very well looked after and the lovely setting.

The Mediterranean vegetable tart was dry, the watercress was limp and the shallots were also dry The tart had clearly been reheated in a microwave, with the "salad" just out of the fridge Being poorly presented on the plate, the waitress did not bring the salt or pepper to the table I had to ask for a glass of water, normally you would expect water to be presented to the table The Chardonnay served was very overpriced per glass I would not recommend the lunchtime menu to other visitors

Helpful and friendly staff. Especially Stewart. Comfortable room and beds and a good breakfast. A lovely bar and lots of snug places to go and sit and enjoy the views. Lovely to be able to walk down to the seafront direct from the hotel. Overall a smashing time and will definitely be back.

We have been to this hotel a lot of times over three years and seen it change along the way. Rooms remain good - the family room works well. The food service has become a bit erratic of late but the food is good when it does come and the surroundings remain lovely

We very much enjoyed our two night stay at the Beach House, a hotel oozing with character. Our superior double room was beautifully appointed with nice decorative touches and the best smelling toiletries I’ve ever come across in a hotel. The breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order, and the staff couldn’t have been more pleasant and helpful. Would love to return when the weather is nicer and take advantage of the fantastic garden and sea views.

The hotel is a wonderful building with lots of character. Previously we stayed in the main hotel with is wonderful. This time the hotel was full but were offered a room in the annex. We were a little apprehensive not being in the main hotel. We need not have been. For us it was lovely. We have a large bedroom, a very large bathroom with a walk in shower and a lounge room with sofa and tea making facilities. There was a good selection for breakfast which is served in the main hotel dining room. We also had an evening meal in the dining room of the hotel which was also very good. The menu had a good selection although the sea bass was not available with was a shame but there was other fish on the menu. The meals were also good value for money. Another very important positive factor for us is dogs are not allowed in the dining room. There was one time when there were too many dogs in the lounge area but we could take our drink to our room as we did have the space to do so.
