Room was dated Vanity shelf was hanging off Mattress had a severe dip in it so not comfortable and added to this we had a couple next to us who came back to the room at 3.10 and kept us awake until 6.40 am arguing and shouting Staff no where to be found and no one at desk at 9 am on the Sunday morning so couldn't complain

Planned to check in, drop my bag and go immediately to help to plan a funeral. I opened the room door and the smell of cigarette smoke hit me. I then had to waste a lot of time going to reception, waiting for the staff to check the room and then find another room. The second room was ‘ok’ but had a faint smell of cigarettes. I had wasted enough time so just had to accept it. Clear notice in the room to say ‘no smoking or vaping’. Staff very helpful. I cannot believe that the domestic staff were not aware and did not do something about it. Not a good experience.

This is a totally average hotel, right in the "just as expected" range for the chain. The room was exactly as pictured on the website - and looked exactly like almost every other room by the same chain. It smelt and looked clean and & fresh when we walked in, had a large & comfortable bed, and a view of the bin store. There was a small kettle, not quite enough portions of UHT milk, and a TV. In short, exactly what I was anticipating, had paid for, and wanted. The shower over the bath was excellent, there were seemingly unending gallons of hot water the instant we needed them - and the few things we wanted from the very friendly & welcoming staff at the reception (where check-in was near instantaneous) were immediately available. We didn't eat at the hotel for either evening meal or breakfast (in an adjacent building at the sister property on the same street) - choosing to take the short walk into the historic city centre instead. I'd absolutely stay here again, and I'd anticipate that no matter the room it would be just the same as all the others. Variety is the spice of life, but sometimes the comfort of a predictable & comfortable mattress is what you want.

We have been here before and didn’t think twice about staying again for a long weekend just before Christmas and we honestly had the best time. The staff are always amazing with the children, so kind and patient and go out of their way to help, the room was spacious and comfortable and most importantly clean. We will definitely be back again and would certainly recommend. Perfect festive break for my family, thank you 😊.

I don’t even know where to start…. I am going to be honest, we were not expecting a lot, as this is a budget hotel, but we had a surprise, and it was not a good one. I don’t even want to think the last time that room was cleaned, there was hair everywhere, dust all over the walls and on top of the air conditioner, the headboard was FILTHY, on the left hand side of the bed was a massive mark on the wall like someone used it as a toilet, we were completely disgusted. We are not the type of couple that complains about anything, but we were not even comfortable in that room. We decided to go to reception, and the lady was really nice and helpful (I am sorry I didn’t got her name), she offered to clean the room but we didn’t though it was enough, so we waited to have a room change. After getting a new room, the receptionist came to check the state of our room and she was shocked as well as us. The new room was more cleaned, but they do need to be refurbished. It’s not on the levels of some Premier Inn that we have stayed before. If you are in between this and a Travelodge, please don’t hesitate on choosing Travelodge.

A great stay and the best beds as always. Stayed 24th until 26th December. The restaurant staff at breakfast on 25th were the best, I was working from my hotel room for the morning and they were great with letting me take a coffee and fruit from breakfast as I didn’t have much time. Very friendly service. A special mention to housekeeping Becky, amazing friendly and I left my card in the room, she found it and headed quickly to find me before I left the hotel. We have to accept that because my spouse is a teacher we have to visit locations during the school holidays. However, the staff at this particular Premier Inn seemed to use this as an excuse for general poor service, queues at reception, queues at breakfast, dirty public access toilets - I would suggest you make absolutely sure that you realise that the North Blossom Street site has no restaurant or even a toilet facility - Parking is good but that's it - they even recommend you visit the Pub on the corner (The Windmill) to use their toilets and restaurant
