Not too bad, but to stay in York for 24hours cost more than £30!! The place itself is very dark, not sure if its mood setting or to hide things!!!! Price is about going rate, now as to whether or not this should be included in the going rate, I would beg to differ. I am sure we could have had somewhere that as bright and open rather than dark and not sure what is lurking behind the dark.

Service was incredible, very friendly and helpful staff. The room was lovely. A bit hot which I had read about but wasn't unbearable and you can open the windows. There was also a fan provided which we didn't need. We ate in the resturant which was lovely and again, very friendly staff. The location was fantastic within the city walls and a stones throw away from York Minster.

The hotel is located in the Center of all the attractions. The bedroom cozy and perfectly clean. It could be noisy for the complex of the building, but it is part of the character of this place. We got dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious. The staff very attentive and helpful but overall I need to talk about Debbie the waitress for breakfast service. Very happy and attentive lady, who was ready to take care of us in the morning. No doubt the staff made our stay even better than expected.

We recently stayed at the Fat Badger, where staff were excellent as was the food and service we received. The only downside were the rooms were a little dated, and old fashioned. Parking was expensive off site too.

Highly recommend, very clean & decorated to a high standard, superb food & friendly welcoming staff, the secret garden very quaint, though some steps a bit tricky, though ( could be a 1000 years old) The location is spot on, with York Minster a 3 minute walk away. Also a hop on/off tour bus almost outside.

Great location with a warm welcome. Very nice clean comfortable room with a great breakfast. We stayed for one night and had an evening meal which was superb. Very friendly, will definitely stay here again, highly recommended.
