Foshan Autumn Vacation, Taking Kids to Western Sichuan to See a Different Kind of Autumn

After some hesitation between Western Sichuan, Beijing, and Xi’an, we finally chose Western Sichuan. Organized a detailed kid-friendly itinerary, feel free to COPY if needed! 📝 DAY 1 Guangzhou → Tianfu Airport | Head straight to Dujiangyan, stay at Atour Hotel in Darongcheng 👍 ✅ Transportation: Fly from Guangzhou to Tianfu ✈️, rent a car upon arrival, self-driving in Western Sichuan lets the team experience a road movie vibe, really so free~ [Car rental Golf 6 days 507 RMB 😂] 📌 Yangtianwo Square: Giant panda check-in 🐼, Wenmiao Old Street, ancient city, watch the “Blue Tears” at Nanqiao at night [tourist check-in style] DAY 2 Panda Valley to see pandas 🐼🍲 → Lixian, stay at Lixian Dakalin [average] ✅ Panda Valley: Less crowded than Chengdu Panda Base, doesn’t pass through Wolongping, so we chose the middle Panda Valley. Not many pandas out and about. The red pandas hid because of the rain, but it’s a good place to see red pandas. ✅ Depart for Lixian in the afternoon: worried about altitude sickness with kids, bought a 60L oxygen bag and filled it in Dujiangyan before hitting the road 🎈 Food: 🍲 Fat Sister’s Beef Offal Hotpot. DAY 3 Autumn scenery on Lixiaolu + Pink sunset at Yala Snow Mountain 🏔️ Stay: Tagong My kid can’t take the scenic bus (99.9% chance of vomiting), so we gave up on Bipenggou. [Feel the most beautiful scenery is on the road] ✅ Popular Lixiaolu, starting from Bipenggou, the overlapping mountain peaks are dyed golden and fiery red by autumn colors, very rich autumn hues. It was drizzling before the tunnel, but after the tunnel, blue sky and white snow appeared. A different kind of scenery. Dazhongpu was overcrowded, and the leaves were already turning brown, a bit late. ✅ Stay in Tagong 🏨 [altitude 3800m] My teammate and I had some altitude sickness, but UNO brother was totally fine. The hotel room faces Yala Snow Mountain directly, saw a pink sunset golden mountain 🌄 in the evening, the snow mountain was dyed a gentle pink-orange, at that moment all fatigue disappeared, the off-season cost performance was amazing! DAY 4 Gunong Village life photos + New Dujing’s regrets and surprises 📸 Stay: Atour Hotel in Xinduqiao 📌 Gunong Village: Went to a teahouse, any angle you shoot is a life photo 📷 📌 95% of the yellow leaves in Xinduqiao had fallen, a bit disappointing. But! The scenery in the river valley completely made up for the regret, herds of cattle and sheep grazing by the river, distant rolling mountains, every shot is a healing masterpiece. DAY 5 Wrap up autumn scenery at Jiagenba ✅ Jiagenba & Tiwu Village DAY 6 Chengdu citywalk | Experience the lively atmosphere of Chengdu alleys ✅ Chengdu Museum, Kuanzhai Alley → Xiaotong Alley → Kuixinglou Street DAY 7 Chengdu check-in wrap-up [tourist check-in] ✅ Chunxi Road, panda on the IFS rooftop, panda post office on Tangba Street, Wenshu Monastery
