Introducing Blarney Castle & Gardens: County Cork and the South of Ireland's most proud hidden gem! ☀️ I'd been enjoying my weekend away in Cork this summer when I had the idea of venturing out of the city to make the most of the sunny weather and the idea of Blarney Castle & Gardens was presented to me. Just a short walk out of the charming village of Blarney, it's 25 minutes by bus from the centre of Cork. 🐮 I started by passing through a willow tunnel and took a long walk down the path with cows grazing and birds singing. ⛰️ I then reached Blarney Lough, the Castle's idyllic lake. You can head out on a small floating jetty to get unblemished views of the Irish hills. 🏰 Passing by Blarney House, it actually stopped me in my tracks! Beautiful. I could imagine a delightful summer party or afternoon tea in front of this place with the backdrop of blue sky. 📷 Then: the Castle... simplistic beauty, again with the backdrop of blue sky. I opted not to queue to go in as I was a touch short on time. ⛲ Passing over a lovely waterfall I was then bound for the shop to get a quick souvenir before my bus back to Cork. 🌟 Top tips: - On a sunny day, bring sunglasses and suncream, ideally a hat as well. The Irish sun definitely delivers when it wants to! - Wear good walking shoes for those uneven cobbled paths - Allow 45-60 minutes extra at busy times if you want to climb the castle and kiss the stone for good luck #postandearn #cork #countycork #discoverireland #sun #magical #castles
