Taishan | Distinctive Stained Glass Windows in Century-Old Arcade Buildings

In the densely packed arcade districts of Taishan, those stained glass windows embedded on the second floors are the most vivid eyes of this hometown of overseas Chinese. It is said that these colored glazed glass pieces were all imported from abroad back then. Skilled craftsmen cut them and combined them with Lingnan wood-carved window frames to create geometric patterns. When sunlight passes through, it casts colorful shadows on the granite ground, resembling the collision of Eastern and Western cultures in the memories of this overseas Chinese hometown.
