We'll meet again in Northwest China. Departing from Guangzhou.

On a whim, I decided to visit the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. After looking around, I decided to go all the way! Guangzhou to Yinchuan! 6-day self-driving tour of Yinchuan-Zhongwei-Lanzhou I bought a plane ticket and set off! Day 1: Guangzhou ✈️ Yinchuan. After landing and checking into the hotel, I tried some local specialties, spicy broth (Yang Ji skewers!). Day 2: The day before was all for today! Crossing! Five! Lakes! Looking for a tour leader. Day 3: The first day of the self-driving tour. In the morning, I went to the Western Xia Mausoleums. I think it's worth a visit as it's the only World Heritage site this year. You definitely need to watch the documentary first, or just see the mounds. The place is quite large. We spent 4 hours there. Tickets were free, but we bought shuttle tickets for Mausoleum No. 3 and the Twin Mausoleums (40 RMB). After that, we headed to Zhongwei! ‼️ Avoid the highways the whole way to experience crossing the Helan Mountains - desert (Inner Mongolia) - oasis! Super cool! Location: Ant Forest Forest No. 174 Day 4: The night before, I stayed at the Zhongwei Yellow River Hostel. So after waking up, I strolled around the park and took some photos. You can see the Ming Dynasty city wall. After breakfast, I headed to Zhongwei city. There wasn't much to do in the city, so I just bought some goji berries and left. Heading to Baiyin-Yongtai Ancient City Day 5: The night before, I stayed at a resident's home in Yongtai Ancient City. Sleeping on a heated kang (traditional brick bed), it was quite unique. 80 yuan per bed. The lady there made incredibly delicious hand-pulled noodles! Yongtai Ancient City is listed by China National Geographic as one of the ten most disappearing wonders in China. Worth a visit! Note that there's no commercial activity here, so it can be quite boring. See the monkeys! The monkeys returned home around 4:45 pm. I left around 8 or 9 am. Opposite the city gate are the snow-capped Qilian Mountains. So beautiful! After breakfast, we headed to Lanzhou. In the afternoon, we visited the Readers' Museum and a coffee shop. Day 6: We checked into a hotel near Zhongshan Bridge in Lanzhou the first day. If you have a car, I recommend the [eLong Ruiyun Hotel]. It's one of the few hotels near Zhongshan Bridge with free parking. It's newly opened, so all the facilities are excellent! In the morning, you can drive to Zhongshan Bridge, the Yellow River Mother Sculpture, and Mogouyan Beef Noodles. Afterwards, we drove to the entrance of Wei Chen's alma mater, Lanzhou Refinery No. 1 Middle School, for a photo op. (Non-fans can skip this, hahaha). Lanzhou Old Street was an unexpected discovery, perfect for killing time. Then we drove to the airport to return the car. 👌🛫 Guangzhou
