Zhangjiajie - Tianmen Mountain

Tianmen Mountain's 999 Steps Heaven Ladder consists of 999 steps. The ladder has a total length of 218 meters, starting from the square in front of the cave at an altitude of 1050 meters, extending upwards to the Tianmen Cave at an altitude of 1170 meters, with a vertical drop of about 120 meters. Visitors can come to sightsee in any season. However, considering all factors, the best time to visit Tianmen Mountain is from April to October, especially in April and October when the scenery of Tianmen Mountain is particularly beautiful and most suitable for touring. During winter, due to low temperatures and icy roads, for the safety of tourists, Tianmen Cave and the Tongtian Avenue for ascending and descending the mountain will be closed, so the number of tourists visiting Tianmen Mountain in winter is relatively less. However, during the Chinese New Year holiday, especially a few days after the Lunar New Year, many visitors go to Tianmen Mountain to burn incense and pray to Buddha for blessings and wishes. Tianmen Mountain Opening Hours and Ticket Prices Peak season: From March 1st to November 30th, the park opens from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with tickets priced at 258 RMB per person. The ticket station stops selling tickets at 4:30 PM. Off-season: From December 1st to February 28th of the following year, the park opens from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with tickets priced at 225 RMB per person. The ticket station stops selling tickets at 4:30 PM. Ticket includes: Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park entrance ticket, cable car or eco-friendly electric car ticket, insurance. Ticket does not include: Tianmen Cave escalator fee of 33 RMB per person, mountaintop forest sightseeing cable car fee of 25 RMB per person, and glass plank road shoe cover fee of 5 RMB per person.
