This is the best cafe in an otherwise terrible neighborhood. The cafe has a lovely interior, great food, and lovely staff. Many vegan options for breakfast, luncheon, smoothies, snacks, pastries and cakes. Right next door is the Belsize Streatery, which we didn't like at all. We didn't feel welcomed there as a gay-couple. The village cafe is the opposite: family-friendly, gay-friendly, inclusive. Don't go to any other places in Belsize, they are all bad, but the Village Cafe is great!!!

I'm a big fan and patron of this little cafe because not only they serve and sell good coffee either for immediate consumption or late enjoyment for home, they are also very welcoming to humans and their canine companions. Living in the city, having a place where dogs can go is an important aspect of daily life for dog owners. Otherwise, life gets too complicated and hence we are naturally inclined to support dog-friendly businesses more. It's a conscious choice.

We had the set lunch of the day which was teriyaki salmon, brown rice, boiled vegetables and miso soup it was absolutely delicious and cost £13. The service was amazing, very friendly and helpful and the toilet is warm on your butt, very Japanese, I loved this cafe and highly recommend it
