Sunday lunch at The Ritz was exceptional. First class service from charming staff, everything was perfect. The food was superb and in my opinion ranked alongside my favourite restaurant (The Waterside)

The food was great and very speedy service. Even though it was busy (saturday night), the waiter made sure that we were happy with our food and we were also offered to try their new ice cream. The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars is the seating arrangements, it's quite cramped and you usually would share a table which isn't ideal if you were after privacy. Still, it's a place i would come back to just for the wagyu shortrib cheeseburger and the chips.

Lots and lots of hearts 【

My first dinner experience at the Shangri La was fantastic. The view, food, drinks were brilliant. We enjoyed the Asian menu and were not disappointed. The sommelier suggested an excellent bottle of wine which suited our specific tastes and paired well with our meals, followed by delicious Gummy Bear cocktails and complimentary petit fours. The service was unparalleled, and we were particularly pleased with the service from Sabrina (Waitress), Kat (Sommelier), Spiros (Assistant Restaurant Manager) and Jordeen and Chloe (Hostess). Additional thanks to Adrien and Prudence from Reception/Guest Relations for organising our evening and being helpful with queries. Overall, a very special experience.

The food, in general, was quite nice, though I was expecting it to be better than it was. There were only two bartenders making drinks who (as far as I am aware) catered not only for the bar area itself, but the entire restaurant as well. Unfortunately, this meant that the drinks took considerably long to arrive. I hate to say but the service was not good at all. The waiters are inattentive and forgetful. I patiently waited around 20 minutes to pay the bill. They also whack on a discretionary service charge which I do not quite think they have earnt. Nevertheless, the view was absolutely stunning at sunset, in particular, as the night sky started to draw over the city. Overall, I would say that you pay for the view (which does a make a trip to this restaurant worth it), but manage your expectations with regard to everything else.
