It takes ten minutes to walk from Kamakura Station on Jiangzhi Island. Jianchang Temple is the first special Zen Taoist temple in Japan founded in 1253 by the fifth generation of Kamakura Shogunate Regent Beito. Lanxi Daolong, an eminent monk, was invited from China to be its master when it was founded. It is well preserved, especially the buildings and statues of Buddha in the temple. They are simple and intact. They complement each other with the surroundings and make you feel like you are back to that ancient time.
