英國的中部瓦維克郡埃文河畔的斯特拉特福鎮 （Stratford upon Avon ）是英國文藝復興時期劇作家、詩人、著名的莎士比亞的出生地，文學家莎士比亞的出生地，這個小地方承載了他童年時期所有的生活。這是一個十分優雅而美麗的城鎮，而作為莎士比亞出生地這個地方也一直被人們關注着，因此聞名於世，一直以來也是一個非常優秀的旅遊地區。如今每當假日到來的時候，許多當地以及外地的遊客都會慕名到這裏遊玩，既可以看看這個小鎮的風情特色，也可以参觀古典秀麗的莎翁故居。而當二十二號到來的時候，因為這是莎士比亞出生的日期，所以在這裏都會進行一些遊行的活動。在莎士比亞出生地區十分著名的還有那條埃文河，它穿越了整個斯特拉特福小鎮，據說莎翁曾經有一個別號叫埃文河上的天鵝，如今的這條河上每天都會有十多隻天鵝在上面遊玩。另外還有一座十分美麗的花園，在這裡有着莎翁作品中曾經提到的許多花卉。當初莎士比亞因為工作的關係要長期居住在倫敦地區，而他的老婆就留在家鄉照看孩子過着平淡的生活，最終在退休之後他也回到了這個地方，並且在這裏離開了人世。

莎翁故居的門票：成人24磅，兒童12磅。其實可参觀的地方並不大，整個行程中，個人感覺這裏的票價，從性價比來比較是最貴的。莎士比亞的故居在小鎮的亨利街北側，就是這座帶閣樓的二層樓房。1564年4月23日，莎士比亞出生在這座樓上二樓的主卧室。他的童年和青少年時代都是在這裏度過的，並度過了和他的新婚妻子的第一個五年。莎士比亞48歲后擱筆，從倫敦回到斯特拉特福鎮，退隱故里。這位文學巨匠，給世人留下了三十七部戲劇，一百五十四首十四行詩和三、四首長詩。花園裡有演員正在表演莎士比亞的戲劇，觀眾可以隨意點戲。只要是演員們會的，他們會立即表演給你看。一樓是家庭起居室、飯廳、寫作的辦公桌，還有莎翁父親的皮革工作坊。據說莎士比亞的父親是做皮革手套和羊毛買賣生意的，在鎮上小有名氣，算是比較富裕的中產階級了。二樓是莎士比亞誕生的主卧室，所鋪的橡木地板據說是400年前的原物。還保留着莎士比亞出生時睡的搖籃。這裏的工作人員也穿着當時的服裝，讓参觀的人很有帶入感。在亨利街的街口，矗立着一座雕塑，是《皆大歡喜》中的小丑試金石誇張活潑的造型。銅像的底座刻着小丑試金石語錄：“傻子自以為聰明，但聰明人知道他自己是個傻子。”

Stratford號稱英國最美的鄉村。但是，無論你有多美或者多怎樣，人一多，啥感覺也沒了。烏烏泱泱的人啊，早已沒有了鄉村的味道。只有耐心走到故居前，對着舊房子拍了一張照片，兒子伸手摸了一下大文豪屋檐下鑲嵌的那根筆，我們抬腳就走了。 往前再走幾十米，是周末的市集，賣花的賣磁器的賣花園用品的，擠擠一條小街，沿着本該平靜的小河，一路人聲鼎沸過去。有很香的烤洋蔥味道傳來，循味過去，是一個賣漢堡和熱狗的攤兒，前面人還不少，我們也湊熱鬧買了倆，當時感覺就像是咱中國的廟會。味道還真不錯，大概也正值飯點兒，後來回憶吃的好東西，兒子居然把這個路邊攤兒的漢堡加入了他的想念之列。邊吃邊往回走，迅速給司機打電話約見面，他也出乎意料，不知道這一行人這麼快就逛完了這有名之地。 街面上有一列老建築，倒是很有古英倫的風範，隔街拍照，留個紀念。
