kuuusukeThe interior of Tsuruga Castle, which is a replica of the castle destroyed during the Boshin War 150 years ago, is divided into five floors, from the basement level to the fifth floor, and you can see historical exhibits. It was a particularly meaningful experience, as I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the Boshin War and the tragic Byakkotai that took place there.

Sumi_gotravelOuchijuku is a bit like the villages in Shirakawa-go, but also a bit different. Compared to Shirakawa-go, there are not so many tourists here, and it has the tranquility that a small village should have. When talking about Ouchijuku, we have to mention the soba noodles there that are eaten with green onions as chopsticks. In fact, it is just ordinary buckwheat noodles, but you don’t eat it with chopsticks, and you can eat the green onions after eating it. As a picky eater, I of course just finished the soba noodles. Behind the street in the inner city, there are snow-covered roads and big trees on the mountain. The road ahead is only white and brown, which makes you feel like you are in a silver world than walking on an ordinary road.
