The sculpture is 6 meters long,2.2 meters wide,2.6 meters high, weighing more than 40 tons, using granite carving, showing a kind mother lying on the waves, holding a baby boy, symbolizing the Yellow River to feed the Chinese children. The base is decorated with water ripples and fish patterns of Gansu colored pottery, which has a deep meaning. The sculpture has won the National Urban Sculpture Excellence Award, and is now a cultural relics protection unit in Gansu Province, which is open free of charge throughout the day.
