My kids absolutely adore the zoo far more than Mandai. The themed playgrounds kept them entertained for hours, and the range of food options was impressive. The palace definitely upholds its reputation as a symbol of Beijing. We did not come during high season but still experienced a significant amount of tourists, however, the management of the gate / entrance could use some improvement as the queues were a bit chaotic when passing the security.
