Taiyuan Ancient County is a typical northern city pattern. The periphery is surrounded by a 3732-meter-long city wall, with a moat. There are multiple gate buildings, enemy buildings, corner buildings, etc. on the city wall. Recommended punching points: ✅ Jinyang Ancient City Archaeological Museum: The 101st museum in Taiyuan City, newly opened in 2024, introduced the history of urban development in Taiyuan for 2,500 years. DanieShae97i had a really great time here. i even rented an audio guide (which was 40 or 45 rmb) so I could listen to each exhibit. my only complaint is that the audio guide kept turning itself to “auto” and skipping over where I actually was in the museum. i’m not sure I would recommend the audio guide because of that issue. when you exit the museum you can take a bus right outside the museum to some of the other locations nearby. if you don’t have a ticket, you can buy one for 2 RMB. the driver was kind and helpful.
