The castle is on Monterey Mountain. Take the bus up the mountain in Catalonia Square. You will pass by the Catalonia Art Palace and the Olympic Park. These two are also must-check in points. The bus terminal is the castle. Free on Sunday afternoon.
Montjuic is a hill in the southwest of central Barcelona, Spain. It overlooks the port. The hill is gentle, but the east side is almost a cliff. The top of the hill is 173 metres high, and there is the Castle of Monte Whitch, which was mainly built in the 17th century.
The history of this castle is fantastic. So much of Barcelona’s history occurred at this site. When you visit check out the views of the city and Mediterranean and read the historical plaques.
This place is amazing. So much history can be felt when inside. We stayed for a quite a while enjoying views of the city, and of the ocean.
On the top of Montjuic, this castle offers some stunning views of Barcelona. And the fortress itself dates back to 1640. A great place to learn a bit more about the history of the area.
Very near the apartment, Montjuïc hill is a nice place to walk. Plenty of parks, the MNAC museum, the Spanish Village, Caixaforum....too many things to see there!
There is the best view to overlook whole Barcelona and coast. Nice place to visit. You can take the cable car or bus to the top.
